Lethal Application now Freeware !

Post by beam »

Grab it there http://www.daisessen.com !
This is a very fun and distinctive, gameplay wise, border liner shmup.
The circle, Daisessen made it freeware to celebrate their new game Lethal Crisis.
I made a short review years ago.

Wow, I thought I was the only person who loved this game. This thread has no replies, so sad and lonely.

Anyway this is seriously one of the most underappreciated doujins around, maybe #1 since I've never heard anyone mention this game before. Since it's free now, peeps have no excuse not to check it out. The main distinctive mechanic is that you use your recoil (!) for movement. Kinda like Granada except nowhere near as awesome, but still awesome.

Thanks for letting me know (indirectly) that they're making a new game!

Edit:
You're a girl who needs to go up. The only way to do it is shooting down.
This is seriously the best opening of any review I have ever seen. Pure genius. Great review overall, because of how dissimilar it is to most reviews.

I'll have to try this tomorrow. It looks quite a lot like something Treasure would try.
Some of the best shmups don't actually end in a vowel.
No, this game is not Space Invaders.

Thanks for the great feedback on my review ! :)
Unfortunately i will not update this blog because i lost the password and changed my email adress. :(

The sequel seems more like a platformer but, telling from the screenshots, there will be some shooting parts. I played the demo which vanished from the site. I suppose it's because there's a design bug which prevents you from finishing the second level.

It's sad there's not many feedback on this game, people miss a great little gem of a game :(
It's a Treasure game not designed by them ! :) it's the Bangai-o spirit in gameplay ! It's bangaio-o meets Silhouette Mirage in design !

GO UP !

I havnt played this yet, usually i love megaman / Cave Story type games but watching the vid it might not be my cup of tea since it over uses the run propelling mechanic which is moves too slow for my own tastes. If the game would mix in normal run and gun parts like what cave story does it would be much more enjoyable. But since im only going on first impressions i might be mistaken when i play it.

I think ive read your blog before while doing some research to start my own gaming blog. Of which ill think ill make my reviews more shorter, since atm i go into detail about the game mechanics, which i could conpress it all abit. It must be a pain for some ppl to put up with a wall of text. (kinda how my posts are in here  ) anyway heres the link since ive been chatting about it
http://indieanddoujingamer.blogspot.com/ if you look at it youll see what i mean about a wall of text hahaha (plus u can play arcanacra on the site if you havent tried it out yet)

Well, I still play Diadra Empty, Hellsinker, PriZhm and a couple more outside that sphere. :P

With work reaching it's critical mass at this point of the year, the only things I've been playing nowadays are PC shooters... quite explained by the 9 I purchased not so long ago.

I'll give this one a go too. It looks nice!

Thanks for mentioning this as I had never heard of it. Interesting little game, better than the past few freeware titles I've downloaded recently.

I havnt played any of these games yet but i do love Zillion Beats which is the vertical version of PriZhm. I might not be that good at it but its still a very good game to play. Probably due to it been rythmn based Zillion has that same sorta feeling as Nolmtest where if im playing really well for a length of time i start to really get into the groove / rythmn of the game

I did an English translation of this awhile ago.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/dgbyap

Replace the DataC folder in the Lethal Application folder with the one in that zip file. I'm afraid it won't work unless your computer is set up to run Japanese applications though.

Wow that 5 years bump. And I totally forgot I posted that years ago. Kil is my old account which I forgot the password to, but it's fortunate that you found the translated files because I doubt I have them anymore.
