You've not played DS on 360, I take it?

not really the 'dark' i was lookin for...loli witches and giant cows ?

skykid's got the idea...something along the lines of last resort aesthetically.
really, id also love a really abstract aesthetic ala tron.
Yeah, it can have multicoloured glowing wireframe and tons of parallax and an awesome, thumping dance soundtrack and they can call it Dangun Feveron 2! :P

In comparison to Mushi and DS and many others, yeah. But standing alone it wasn't really that dark in game. The promo art was pretty dark though.

Ok, Blade Runner kinda dark. I guess the darkness I see in DS is stages like the graveyard and such.

IMO, the Blade Runner style would be nice in a side-scroller. Instead of the Neo-Tokyo look in Last Resort, set the 1st stage in a weathered L.A. style cityscape full of smog, smoke, and haze with an occasional bit of rain. Use Syd Mead's work as part of the inspiration for design. Run it on the new PC hardware, BUT keep the realtime rendered polygons far away from it. Prerenders done in HD (i.e. Death Smiles 360) would be best.

I bet Daifukkatsu might be the unnamed arcade port, but we probably won't see it for awhile due to DFKBL coming out in arcades. Then again, Cave doesn't have to release the DFKBL DLC immediately after the home port.

Seconded. They did well with Futari. 5pb should have hired them for DOJBL in the first place instead of Aqua System- then there never would have been a DDPGate.

DDP Campaign Version needs a port. I'd also like to see a proper conversion of Ibara and Ibara BL, but the chance is probably less than jack shit.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

Only lolis I liked were in this game. Probably because there is a reference to the japanese science fiction stuff here. Like in Ghost In The Shell, appearing like dangerous weapons by their own. Dark enough for me and surely more adult than most of their late stuff.

Personally i would really love to see a sequel to Progear or Ketsui if it does not go by a brand new "dark" or "adult" title.

I think as long as we have these cotton candy bullets in 'dark' games like Ketsui or DOJ, shmups by default can't delve into grimdark nonsense.

I don't know why anyone would want it either, the most common complaint in a revered 'dark,' revered shmup like Battle Garegga is that the bullets didn't stand out enough from the backgrounds.

Dunno if it was already mentioned but according to Asada's last post of 2009 on his blog, Cave plans 4 console and 2 arcade releases in 2010. As for console releases I'm guessing those are Espgaluda II, Guwange XBLA, Deathsmiles II and that original new 360 game, which would mean no MMP, PS or DDPDFK ports til 2011. Unless 5pb gets some more licences from Cave ;), and that's of course if everything goes ok with Ketsui's (hopeful) spring release.

More like "Mushihime-sama Futanari". SURPRISE, SURPRISE!

I thought Guwange was coming for PC (via Steam or whatever) if Microsoft kept being annoying regarding approval?

still it would be cool if they did a PC version and added extra features and modes like they do with their console ports. Plus does the mame version run perfectly? ive never tried it but im guessing it doesnt

You kinda forgot Ketsui among those four console-releases. Scratch Guwange.

No, Cave isn't publishing Ketsui (5pb is), so naturally you shouldn't add it to the list of games Cave plans to publish.
