Cool Zombie Revenge playthrough

Post by louisg »

I found a pretty cool Zombie Revenge playthrough on YouTube. It's a bit hard to find; I ran into it by accident. It might be a 1cc, I'm not sure if it's tool assisted. The technique is good, but there may be some shenanigans: Near the end the character looks like she dies, but instead of dying the healthbar goes back to max (is there an item that does that?). Anyway, here ya go.. BOOLETS:

EDIT: according to nZero, the blue vials are a power-up which refill your health when you die; that's what's going on during the last level
EDIT: added ending (in cooperation with Data East? explains a lot =))

Wow...I never thought I'd live to see the day when someone actually had the patience to become proficient at that game. I bought a copy from a local pawn shop, played through it a few times with friends, then returned it for...wait for it...Rippin Riders. Poor decisions all around.

Yeah, the game is really frustrating. I think it has a lot of good variety and some great ideas. But, I think the controls are too sloppy to really keep up with the demanding damage system (the fact that some zombie attacks take so much health, combined with a single life). You definitely have to play the game a certain way and can't expect to target enemies too precisely.

I've learned a few things though.. one is that zombies with guns really are slow. They load the gun and cock it back before they shoot a few seconds later; I think they always aim right where the player was when they loaded it. So, you can really run rings around those zombies and avoid being hit unless you find yourself trapped in a horde. I'm having a lot of trouble playing the game consistently though, even on easy parts.

A remake with better controls and a different balance would be good.

...and better targeting system. The final boss battle brought back bad memories of running around desperately trying to lock on to something.

ah man I had good times with this game when it first came out, me and my cousin would play this saturdays when he used to come over, it was hard but very entertaining....if it ever came out on Live or psn I'd definantly buy it.
