San Francisco Bay Area Mushihimesama Futari 360 release party.

Palo Alto - Saturday Dec 12, 2009 - 3 PM onwards

Participants will play in the Futari Isolation Chamber (small storage room with stand-up VGA cab)
This will be displayed on the living room big screen, where we can relax and play my other cab.

All welcome, drinks/snacks provided, no shoes inside, please wear socks. I've moved since my last meet, so PM me for location/contact info.

Will you tate the VGA cab for proper futari isolation?

That would be nice, but it's too much work. The upgraded graphics will suffer a bit. If we play arcade mode all we will be losing is size. Anybody know if arranged mode has more detailed graphics?

added:
it seems all modes have been upgraded, and several video modes(filters?) are available. The 360 will be running 640x480, and we will be playing them 480x360 (yoko, 25% loss of resolution) on a size about equal to a 19" monitor tated. The living room display will be much bigger of course.

also: the observers would see a rotated display if we tate the cab. Given the size of the closet it's in, this is the only way I can do this. I actually think it's going to be pretty cool to watch each other like a replay. Or in BER's case, a superplay.

Ah ok, I didn't quite get that comment in your first post...so the video from the cab is going to be broadcast onto the livingroom TV as well? Then I guess it does have to stay horizontal...bummer. Anyway, I'm getting this also next week so I'll see it tate first hand on my exceleena soon enough...just don't have a 360->jamma adapapter built yet.

right. I scored some 50 foot BNC cables. We can crank up the resolution (loosing sync on the cab) to see how purdy it is on the TV.

and everyone feel free to bring some JAMMA boards if you like.

Yo Antron! Hows it going man? Ironish just pointed me to this thread. Sounds hella fun and I'm gonna try to make it, but its really close to final exams for me, so I can't exactly commit at the moment. If I can make it, I can bring another xbox and game, joysticks and such.

Futari Isolation Chamber sounds like Alec Embarrassment Chamber to me.

Great, hope you can make it. Two setups would rock.

Arrrgh, so tempting...

Thanks for the invite! My dad may be having his birthday party that afternoon. I say may because we had two Thanksgiving parties so my parents may not be up for another family gathering so soon. I'll find out next week and advise so Ish and I can plan the commute.

Antron, did your Futari come in? Mine is still on the slow boat, and after reading this there is a good chance it might not come in until next week.

Thanks for being a great host Antron! The Futari isolation chamber was pretty cool, no distractions, just pure shumping while everyone watches in the living room. Always a pleasure to see the regulars, Mikhail, Ironish, Louis, Ber.

Darn, I just found out we all missed BER 1CC Original it with Abnormal Palm just after we left! No surprise really, he got progressively better with each game...it was awesome to watch!

antron, thanks again for hosting this meet up. It was nice to see how everyone's been doing lately.

As Dave mentioned, by some miracle I did -- with abnormal Palm on ver. 1.5 Arcade Original mode. I managed to collect the 1up this time, and I died only once in stage 5 before the boss. I still can't believe I managed to survive nearly every cutback I made.

Then I look at the high score board here, and I see 17 ALLs. I'm humbled again. -_-
