Dragon Quest X and Yakuza 3...U.S. releases anytime??....
These are 2 titles that I am really looking forward to. I'm a big Dragon Quest fanboy, and X is supposed to be a Wii exclusive, yet I've heard nothing about it this year. Same with Yakuza 3 on the PS3, it looks great, but in the E3 and TGS coverage this year, everyone was talking about 4! I think 3 needs to come out in the U.S. first, but that's just me.

There was rumor that Yakuza 3 would get a US release, but I can't say much more. I could never confirm the source of the rumor, so I'm treating it as such. Honestly I'd be thrilled to see DQ 9 get it's butt out in the US.

I'd say Yakuza 3 has a snowball's chance in Hell. If I'm not mistaken, Sega has already commented on passing on it, so it'd have to be picked up by someone else. I wouldn't be surprised if Ignition picked it up, to be honest. Shane B. was a big Yakuza fan, and he IS one of the people now that make decisions as to what they publish.
As far as DQX goes, I think you're a year or two too early to be asking about that. There's practically no information on the game, let alone information on a international release. We probably won't even hear about a Japanese release until next TGS.

I thought it was pretty much decided that Ignition took the rights for RgG3 but yeah, I take it as a rumor, here's hoping they're "secretly" working on localization. If not now, we'll never see this.
Also, all the RgG4 coverage in TGS'09 changed my mind: SCREW 3, I WANT YAKUZA 4! DAMNIT!!

Yes, I just read this on Gamefaqs. Don't know why it is taking Sega so long to figure out whether to localize games or not, but its great news regardless!

I don't think DQ IX (you did mean IX, right?
) has officially been announced, but SE filed for a trademark on the English version of the title... so yeah, it's effectively confirmed for release here. Just give them a bit, I'm guessing they'll try to space it pretty far away from FF XIII.

No, he meant X.
But afaik that one doesn't even have a japanese release date.

And there was much rejoicing! Luckily PS3 games cannot be pirated, so it might even sell well enough that they release Yakuza 4 too. I was in Tokyo Game Show and Yakuza 4 had huge visibility there, they had a throne and some chicks like the AV actress Rio posing next to it, and some cute dancing chick and everything, even some mystic yakuza den, but I didn't have enough time to stand in line so I don't know what was behind the door. I also met Toshihiro Nagoshi there, he was watching the RgG stage, clearly content with the crowd his creation was attractingZOM wrote:Yakuza fans rejoice!

But... what about Ryuu ga Gotoku Kenzan?

Scooping someone on Gamefaqs (coz news starts on the internet); Squeenix just registered a trademark for DQ9 in the US:

So it seems its arrival is inevitable. Yay!

Yeah I've seen the fancy throne in some TGS videos.Shocky wrote:And there was much rejoicing! Luckily PS3 games cannot be pirated, so it might even sell well enough that they release Yakuza 4 too. As for Kenzan!... Seeing that apparently it was already a big stretch for sega to get everything started to bring over RgG3, I don't see them showing interest in Kenzan! at all. RgG3 had lots of petitions & Internet-bitching going, so it was easy for sega to more or less calculate if the interest is high enough and bring them profit with a "budget"-release(no English VA to waste money on).
