That stick uses all stock Hori. The reviews seem to be decent. The EX SE is all Seimitsu and originally MSRP at 139.99. The EX SE is a great deal for a quality stick

Oh I don't doubt that it's a great deal for awesome parts. I personally don't like Seimitsu (or Sanwa, for that matter), but I respect them.

My only issue with the RAPs is that they're all friggin huge. Well...way too many buttons as well, but that's common.

I've seen the Tekken 6 bundled sticks selling for $99.99 at the local Fry's, but since I already picked up a SF4 TE Fightstick myself, I think I'll pass on this one.

If you think the HRAP is big, then the TE Fightstick practically falls into "requires its own ZIP code" territory.

How about the Cyber Stick? Not as deep I'd bet, but very wide. There's also that Sega stick that mimics the front of an Astro City, and of course the Steel Battalion controller.

Aw hell no...the "wings" on my old 2p X-Arcade used to rest on the arms of my computer chair. Never has there been a more comfortable option than a free-floating joystick. That thing is like a friggin albatross.

I have the SFIV TE stick, but I figured I'd go ahead and order this one for the $90 - esp. having heard good things about Seimitsu parts for shmups. IMO, the HRAPs aren't overly huge - just a little on the big side.

There must have been an overstock and Amazon is blowing these out cheap and fast because the SFIV stick craze has slowed down. What gets me is why the EX is still 129.99 when this is a superior product.

Thats the EX (Sanwa stick hori buttons) not the same as the EX SE (Seimitsu stick and buttons)

Best joystick for shmups on the 360 period. If you go the modding way, that's another story. I can't believe is so damn cheap!! I bought mine directly from Hori store when it came out and paid a little more than that.

I've actually heard of some people using these on SRK. Probably casually, and considering 80% of SRK doesn't actually play fighting games, it's a pretty significant number.

Definitely casually. The quick response of Sanwa buttons beats whatever you could get out of the stiff Hori buttons. I think the Hori buttons are easier to "mash", that may be why. haha

Actually, just a few years ago when everything was on PS2, tourney players often used HRAP1s, HRAP2s, or even all-Hori T5 sticks out of the box with Hori buttons (although some also modded theirs). I'm sure given a choice, they would've opted for Sanwa/Seimitsu buttons but apparently, they didn't think there was enough difference worth buying.

However, very soon after I got my HRAP2, I went all-Sanwa and haven't looked back since. I have Seimitsu sticks and buttons and while they're better for some stuff, they're just not as smooth for 2D fighters.

I actually prefer the stock Hori buttons that were on my old Tekken 5 stick over any other J-Style buttons. They were a bit stiffer than normal, which suited me just fine. The stock buttons on my old RAP2, however, were crap.

I went ahead and picked up one of these myself. The buttons are on QDs, right? I have six Sanwa buttons lying around that I wouldn't mind getting some use out of...Though I'll probably be absolutely fine with the Seimitsu ones.
