I think the first thing it asks is if you want to save your replay (locally). I think it then asks you if you want to upload your score. Somewhere in the options, you can turn off the part that asks you if you want to save your replay. Somebody who can read Japanese should confirm this though.lawnspic wrote:Can someone give me a rough translation of the menus just after completing the game or after a game ends. Thanks to CRI for the LE shots he picked up somewhere, the picture section is pretty much complete.

Anyone else having trouble with the slowdowns at the latter half of stage 3 on 1.5 original? some explosions seem to trigger slowdown and shake the screen, I cant predict when that slowdown ends so I often end up flying into some bullet.

Haven't played the port yet, but I can tell you stage 3 is a total bastard no matter what. Sounds like they got that part accurately.Zaarock wrote:Anyone else having trouble with the slowdowns at the latter half of stage 3 on 1.5 original? some explosions seem to trigger slowdown and shake the screen, I cant predict when that slowdown ends so I often end up flying into some bullet.

Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

I'm pretty sure it asks you if you want to save your replay locally -before- asking if you want to submit your score. Unless you have replay saving disabled entirely.honorless wrote:Don't remember at what point you can save a replay to your hard drive, because I've never wanted to.
Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (new thread)
Still didn't get my copy from PA, but a friend brought his copy over to play in the astro cab. I tried out Arrange mode which was retardedly easy on Original. I 1CC'd that with about 4 lives left. Then we played Novice Ultra with two players, which was actually a total blast. We had a lot of fun going back and forth trying to steal gems, power ups, extends, etc. from each other. It actually makes for a really fun versus mode because it's crazy enough with all the bullets, while not being too brutal because of the auto-bomb.
We ended up just playing in 360 mode (which looks fantastic) because I was having a hard time getting the original arcade mode set up properly. I'm running in 640x480 on a tri-sync monitor, so it seems like I would just need to turn off filters, enable 2x scanlines, and be all set, but it still wasn't filling the screen. Any tips to get that set up just right? And will the brightness need to be adjusted to make up for the scanlines?

I don't think I ever got my question answered: If you use the DLC code with your US account, are you still able to use it with a JP account? If not, is there a way to deactivate it from the first account? Any info would be appreciated.

Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (new thread)
The DLC is tied to whatever gamertag redeemed it, forever. Other gamertags can use the content only if they are playing on the same 360 it was first redeemed on. The gamertag that redeemed it can use it for themselves on any 360, so long as the profile is connected to Live.

The second half of stage 3 in 1.5 Original is also driving me a bit nuts. Seems that normal Reco has the upper hand here, if you stay towards the middle of the screen her rapid shot takes care of most of the threats, but those damn beetles that pop out of nowhere!
Thank you and Great job Elixir, the last Futari thread was leaving a very bad taste in my mouth.

There's a Youtube tutorial showing you how to get the "やったー、もういっちょやったー Get an extend by picking up a Bomb or Power-up Item 20G" achievement: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N06RoPA7Fes
If you're too lazy to watch:
- play novice original mode
- use all your bombs and get yourself killed immediately so you can pick up the MP powerup
- don't bomb at all afterwards
- get to stage 3 and stop shooting when your score is 34.4 to 34.9 million
- pick up the powerup item and only one bomb before the boss
- wear the boss down until your score is at lease 34.9 mil, then pick up the 2nd bomb

What I don't get is why I need to zoom. I want this game running at 320x240, then doubled with scanlines, and it should fit perfectly in 640x480 right? I tried going to x2.0 for the zoom, but it was still not the full screen.emphatic wrote:Did you zoom it as well?dmauro wrote:I'm running in 640x480 on a tri-sync monitor, so it seems like I would just need to turn off filters, enable 2x scanlines, and be all set, but it still wasn't filling the screen. You know, after playing this for a while, that NCSX blurb was pretty off base. This isn't one of the hardest shmups ever. It's not easy, but i'm not that good, and I have made it to the middle of the last stage. If I can do that, this doesn't deserve such a "one of the hardest shooters ever" label. Before they edited it, they said it was "the" hardest shooter ever didn't they? Guess they didn't play DOJ.

Well, unlike DoDonPachi Daioujou, there are difficulty modes. Ultra is probably the hardest shmup ever.
Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (new thread)
Pretty sure they're basing that off of just ultra modeevil_ash_xero wrote:You know, after playing this for a while, that NCSX blurb was pretty off base. This isn't one of the hardest shmups ever. Yes, I'm running it in my cab as well, so as my 360 is set to 4:3, I was a bit surprised to find no fullscreen TATE mode was present. I think it looks quite sharp though, as if no blur is added even when zoomed (360 mode, arcade mode does look very soft).dmauro wrote:What I don't get is why I need to zoom. You can do this without dieing to get the full powerup, the only reason to do so if you want to get it by picking up a powerup for 10k points, but having max bombs and picking up another bomb for 100k is easier.Schrodinger's cat wrote:There's a Youtube tutorial showing you how to get the "やったー、もういっちょやったー Get an extend by picking up a Bomb or Power-up Item 20G" achievement: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N06RoPA7Fes

hm. it looks pretty crappy on my CRT. dunno why that is, i have RFA running on it and it looks fantastic. the colors seemed washed out and everything has kind of a smeary/blurry filter over it.
there are a ridiculous amount of settings, no idea what to change here. i tried a few things but it made it look worse.

Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (new thread)
Hopefully this wasn't already answered in the first thread, but I just got my copy (second print despite ordering long before the region-free announcement, figures), and noticed that in the section of the instruction booklet about DLC, under the blurb about Black Label there's another one for Version 1.01 - has anyone translated it to see if it says anything other than "use a DLC voucher to get it"? It's a tad weird that they'd bother mentioning it in the printing that can't access it...
Anyways, the game itself is magnificent otherwise - even a shmup newcomer or two that I convinced to give it a try are loving it.

Since I doubt they reprinted the manual, here's what it says in my 1st edition copy:
Ver1.01
Ver 1.5's predecessor, high difficulty level version.
To play Ver1.01, it is necessary to enter the serial number included with first edition release in the marketplace.

Okay, I'm not sure I;m clear on original scoring.
I want to use the beam for 0-500, and the shot for 501-999 right?
So for 0-500 I have to hold A, but for 501-999 I can tap A or hold C or tap C?

Nope you got it reversed, you'd use the "beam" (Hold A) for 500-999 and, and the shot (C or tapping A) for 0-499.Special World wrote:Okay, I'm not sure I;m clear on original scoring.

Tapping A is the exact same thing as holding C

Ah okay, that sounds more natural.
Thanks.
edit: It also only matters which one you KILL with, right?
So I can whittle down bosses with either shot as long as I deal the final blow with the correct shot?
Thanks.

I'll second this! I had two friends come over to play it last night, neither one plays a lot of shmups, but they both loved Futari (I had them both try it on Novice Original and Arrange Original) - especially Arrange mode! Had another friend over today who doesn't really like any shooters, but watched me play for a bit and admitted that the game looked fun and he might want to try it eventually.BulletMagnet wrote:Anyways, the game itself is magnificent otherwise - even a shmup newcomer or two that I convinced to give it a try are loving it.
I'm really glad they included the Novice modes. They're not only great for "taking it easy", but also for making the game accessible enough for anyone to enjoy (and it has the bonus of having the chance of acting like a gateway: "Oh, you liked this game? Let me show you some others you may like!").

@nZero - Thanks for the translation, it probably is the same. Bah, maybe I'll shoot Cave an email, though I doubt anything'll come of it, especially since they can just blame the retailer and vice-versa...
