Coolest 3d motorcycle racing game
Coolest 3d motorcycle racing game
While I was on vacation, I spotted a Manx TT disc for Saturn at the flea market. I almost picked it up, but $15 for a couple similar tracks seems a bit weak. So, what's the best arcade-style motorbike game for the Saturn, PSX, PS2, GC or Wii? Anything similar but with more tracks?

Road Rash imo.
Manx TT on the Saturn was weak, so was the arcade actually.

Is Road Rash on any of those systems?
Manx is brilliant, one of my favourite ever racers.

Road Rash appeared originally on the 3DO, followed by a Saturn and PS1 port.
As it was one of the few games of the 20th century still in my top 10 of all time (I must admit I had it on 3DO when it was the only CD based console bar the CD32), it has to be mentioned.
Manx TT superbike is the only other bike game that comes to my mind in that era. Bikes are not that popular it seems.
Burnout Paradise has the most awesome graphics on PS3 and it has its own section for bikes. Its the most fun you can have on a bike in a videogame. Its available on 360 as well, and is dirt cheap.

Manx TT is awesome and might just be the best racer on the saturn next to sega rally. Great tunes as well if I remember correctly.

Oh, THAT Road Rash. I was thinking of the original (superior) Mega Drive oneneorichieb1971 wrote:Road Rash appeared originally on the 3DO, followed by a Saturn and PS1 port.

Is Tourist Trophy not 'arcade' enough?
Regardless, thanks for the reminder. I'm going to blow the dust off of my PS2 and play this tonight.

I've only been able to check out the Nintendo 64 Road Rash entry, it's horrible. The others look pretty good though - hopefully they control better as well.

Road rash on the 3DO was rather clunky to control, but it was rather fun in its day. Hitting the guys over the teapot helmet with a baseball bat is one of the best all time moments in videogaming. Lots of cartoon sounds... We need some of that stuff in current gaming. No need to be serious all the time.

I don't know how well it would work on a modern PC, but Moto Racer is a fun one if you can manage to find it. Back when it came out, it was a game frequently used to show off the capabilities of 3d accelerator cards (if I recall correctly, this would have been around the Riva 128/Voodoo 2 era) and looked quite good for its time, and ran at 60FPS too. There's a PSX version as well, and from the videos on YouTube it actually looks pretty decent, but the PC version is definitely the better choice if you can find it.

Motor Raid is the best motorcycle game, bar none.
Re: Coolest 3d motorcycle racing game
Aww now I really want to play Motor Raid again. I played it in the arcades back when it was new. Is it MAMEd yet?

I remember a few cool ones on the original Xbox, but the only motorcycle game I'd play today is PGR4. Iirc, there's supposed to be some nice motorcycle action in it.

That "Road Rash 32" as it was called (3DO, Saturn and PS1) is indeed awesome. I was playing it other day, and it's still as fun to play as it ever was.
All games on the series that came later were vastly inferior to this. I think it's the best on the series, even better than the Mega-Drive games.
There was a Bike game on Amiga called "No Second Prize" which was excellent....you could try it out on an emulator, if you can stand 16 bits 3D games. (I still play Stunts from time to time and I still find it to be an amazing game)
