No, iirc Asada said it will be decided based on Futari sales.

Man- the 25th of Feb is not that far away. Damn pricey ass gaming season
I haven't gotten my Futari in the mail yet.
Good time for shmups though! Futari, Raystorm HD on the brink of coming out, Patch for DOJBLX, Espy 2 preorders to look for. This makes me happy : D

Hell yeah, I was hoping for something more like a late March release. I guess I now where my tax return will be going now.Battlesmurf wrote:Man- the 25th of Feb is not that far away. Damn pricey ass gaming seasonI haven't gotten my Futari in the mail yet.

This is a funny place.... half of you buy single games for hundreds and hundreds of bucks, others "complain" because they have to spend a hundred dorars on not even a handful of games in three months...
Re the region coding, everything I've heard so far about Mushi 2 sales has been very positive, to say the least, so it's probably save to say future Cave ports will be region free? Now if only they could rerelease the region-coded games in case my Jap xbox RODs... and yeah, the cover really is butt-ugly...

Re: Espgaluda II
No. Asada even said Mushi 2 sales would determine localization of future titles, not future region-free titles. I don't think anything is safe to say yet.ChurchOfSolipsism wrote:everything I've heard so far about Mushi 2 sales has been very positive, to say the least, so it's probably save to say future Cave ports will be region free?

Further confirmation that every LE will include a faceplate. Also further confirms that both the limited and regular editions will come with a 1 disk OST CD. It sounds like the OST CD will only be included in the first-print runs of both editions. Article also shows the covers for both editions. In case anyone doesn't know yet, Seseri will be a playable character in the port.

Ok, they better confirm those magical words: REGION FREE. Capitalise them more if needed?

Re: Espgaluda II
I don't think they'll announce the region status of this port until they've had enough time to analyze Futari's sales (and allow it to sell for a little while longer). I'm guessing sometime in January, or just before the Espgaluda 2 port goes gold at the latest.Observer wrote:Ok, they better confirm those magical words: REGION FREE. Capitalise them more if needed?

On that webpage which cover is which? And why does only one of them say black label?

The one on the right is the LE cover. And I don't know why the LE cover says it but the other doesn't (the article doesn't say either).t0yrobo wrote:On that webpage which cover is which? And why does only one of them say black label?

Re: Espgaluda II
That's odd, maybe they just grabbed some existing art and stuck it on there. I'm not familiar with the posters or anything for it though. It's a shame I don't really care for the LE cover, I think I want that faceplate though.Cuilan wrote:The one on the right is the LE cover. Re: Espgaluda II
I emailed them pointing out how region free is better for them and consumers, because it means a tiny market (like the UK) can still buy their products, which a local publisher won't be able to get enough sales of - distribution here is difficult even if the demand was there due to the high street monopolies stocking major publishers only.
If it does get localised, you can bet Europe will get fucked over again like with Raiden 4.

People should rally up and email cave about further region free Esp2 or localized game releases and a thanks for the Mushi 2 port, the extra positivity and support couldn't hurt, especially to keep the ball rolling with mushi 2's release.

Re: Espgaluda II
I just did so, and I hope our sales have helped sway the tide, while localization i think will never work out(due to publishers expectation of sales or need to sell them at a reduced cost), region free is as good choice as any.Aquas wrote:People should rally up and email cave about further region free Esp2 or localized game releases and a thanks for the Mushi 2 port, the extra positivity and support couldn't hurt, especially to keep the ball rolling with mushi 2's release.

Re: Espgaluda II
I'm getting some varied opinions of this game's difficulty. I'm concerned about that, since DOJ really kills me. I can't quite enjoy it much, since I feel like i'm "under the gun" as soon as Stage 3 starts, and it's a rarity if I can get to the end of it. And that's it. So, I only usually play about 2 and a half stages of DOJ, in rapid succession. Frustrating.
OK, I know ESP II has 6 levels. Playing strictly for survival, about what stage does stuff start getting DOJ hard? And does it REALLY get that hard? If I can play about 3 or 4 levels(i'd prefer 4..or at least get to the end of the 4th stage), i'd be pretty happy honestly. I'm not hard to please, but I almost always like to get to the 4th stage of any shmup. And more importantly, I don't want to feel completely under the gun the whole time. I'd like some time to breathe and enjoy things. I can handle Ra.de. and Guwange, for reference. I can only get to the 4th stages on them, but that's about my limit I think(at this point).

Re: Espgaluda II
If you are playing for survival I don't think you'll find it that awful... except the last boss. I HATE that thing, I turn off the game half the time while fighting it.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?
Re: Espgaluda II
Wonder when pre-orders are opening?
Re: Espgaluda II
i don't think it ever gets DOJ hard (maybe the last boss, as mentioned above?), especially as you've got the slowdown stuff to help you out when it gets tricky. i've never got to the last stage playing DOJ, but i can on this.evil_ash_xero wrote:OK, I know ESP II has 6 levels. Re: Espgaluda II
I'd say it's a hair easier than DOJ's first loop most of the way, but the game is almost as long as two loops of DOJ so there's a lot of room for mistakes. The game gives you a lot of bombs and being able to slow bullets and cancel them of course makes a lot of stuff much easier.evil_ash_xero wrote: OK, I know ESP II has 6 levels. Playing as Ageha or Asagi just for a clear you will probably find it a hair easier than DOJ. Playing for score at all, you will find that the game is considerably harder than DOJ's first loop.

Must have misread something then, thanks for clearing that up - although it's a bit discouraging... well, we'll wait and see (and hope that the ROD takes its time to arrive).WarpZone wrote:No. Asada even said Mushi 2 sales would determine localization of future titles, not future region-free titles. The faceplate and cover art on the LE are flat out hideous.
