[X360] Mushihime-sama Futari Ver. 1.5 is region free
Re: [X360] Mushihime-sama Futari Ver. 1.5 is region free
How in the world can we all get the 2nd printing of the game when we preordered it all the way back when the game was first announced? That does not make any sense at all? Some people who preordered back when the page first went up have not been getting the DLC card, yet others who ordered a week before the game released are receiving it. For me it isn't such a big deal but I feel bad for those who ordered this game back when it was first announced and did not receive a first print run of it.

It's now very obvious that P-A did not ship out the 1st printing on a 'first come first serve' basis.
Oh well...

That's just crap-tastic. My DLC card is giving me a bad taste now, as I preordered mine quite late from Videogameimports.maxmultiplier wrote:Jugiatsu wrote:How in the world can we all get the 2nd printing of the game when we preordered it all the way back when the game was first announced? Has anyone emailed PA about this yet? I'd like to think that they'd be willing to do something for the people that ordered early and got screwed.

Re: [X360] Mushihime-sama Futari Ver. 1.5 is region free
It's pretty obvious, PA received copies of both and didn't allot in chronological order. Instead customers randomly get a copy from the big pile, luck-of-the-draw style. Bad customer service, but it saves PA the hassle of counting and separating their sheep. They must have been swamped anyway, I had another game in my order which had shown as confirmed and reserved for several days when the order went to packing status. On the very day everyone else's copy shipped the little check mark next to that game went away and stalled my order. Nice.
Got the game today, though, and my jaw has been in solid contact with the floor ever since. First time playing, suck-at-it-but-love-it type. Not sure if it's been mentioned, but the soundtrack in the LE is amazing. The arrangers read like a who's who of game synth sound and the musical and technical quality is stellar. Due to the large array of people working on it, so is the variety. This must be one of the most varied and elaborate arrange albums yet. It's playing in the background and I'm still stunned.
The game itself...sweet Jesus. What kind of marriage from Hell is this port? Are the upcoming ones going to be like this? I mean I've stopped being too much of an anal asshole for practical reasons after Arika stopped porting. It just wasn't going to happen. Shit, I only played for half an hour but it was unreal. Someone needs to make a quick and dirty guide for the screen options with all the people importing this, I almost didn't see you could hit A for a submenu to tweak the screen option further after activating Maniac menu. That's where they buried the filter option, which is active even for 360 mode. Turning that off almost made a grown man cry. Having the screen modes operate like presets you can change is nice. It will remember your tweaks for each of them, and while it doesn't remember which one you used for which mode, all you have to do is invoke it and your changes will be loaded with it. You can also reduce wallpaper brightness to 0 if you want none.

For anyone who ordered from Play-Asia, is there any way to check the game type besides waiting for it to come in?

How do you turn that off? Honestly I can't see that setting at all. There are layouts, picture settings (one that fakes scanlines), then framedelay and 'simplifydraw' along with some obvious ones.Liersi wrote:I almost didn't see you could hit A for a submenu to tweak the screen option further after activating Maniac menu. Not likely. I ordered from PA as well. I guess you could try e-mailing them and see if they have a record of the stock number they sent you, but I doubt that, plus there's not much you can do once the shipment is in transit anyway. Just have to hope you see that lovely pink sticker when the package arrives.Special World wrote:For anyone who ordered from Play-Asia, is there any way to check the game type besides waiting for it to come in?

Re: [X360] Mushihime-sama Futari Ver. 1.5 is region free
I've had my preorder on PlayAsia for a few weeks. Two things annoy me about this.
1. When I buy a game I own it and the content on the disc. This is why by law I can resell it. The rules should stay the same even with the new options modern consoles gives us. It is disturbing how the delivery method for DLC is being abused and twisted into something else. We've seen it before but that doesn't make it right.
2. I was not informed. I could have accepted this if information was clear about what I bought. This feels like a dishonest sneak move.
The main reason i ordered this is because I like regionfree shmups. Great job on that one. But why did they have to correct one right with a wrong ?

this has probably been asked and answered already, but where exactly do you enter the DLC code?
Re: [X360] Mushihime-sama Futari Ver. 1.5 is region free
Yeah, join the club. Play-Asia is almost totally clueless for pre-order bonuses. One time, I asked them whether a certain game still included the pre-order bonus a day after release. They told me they were out. A month later in a sale, I buy the game and it included the pre-order bonus.
Did everyone who ordered from Play-Asia get the DLC card? I know they sometimes get JP-for-Asia releases that, although indistinguishable from normal JP releases, often come with a red sticker and don't come with any bonuses.

When you are on the Maniac Settings Screen press A while on "Layout Setting" or "Picture Setting", you can edit the individual options for each preset. There are 2 different menu's, one for the layout and one for the picture, you can turn the filter off on the Picture Setting menu.bloodflowers wrote:How do you turn that off? Wow. It blows my mind that Cave actually thinks It's OK to lock a game mode that has online leaderboards & replays.

I've learned my lesson. Never will I pre-order a game that comes with some type of DLC from P-A ever again. P-A can't be trusted.
NCSX all the way for now on. NCSX is very knowledgeable, competent, & understanding when it comes to distributing pre-order bonuses accordingly.

So you can in fact redeem the code on a US account?
And what about Black Label? If I decided I wanted it but then had 1.01 on my US account, would I then have to split it between accounts? Or do these things apply themselves to all accounts as long as you have the same 360?

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

This 1.01(1.1?) stuff is madness. All I can say is Cave better include the "key" for 1.01 w/ Black Label when that comes out, or at least let it be purchasable at some point (boo.) They could've told us about the DLC cards being first print / limited edition exclusive, too. I dunno, man. I'll be playing the waiting game for probably another week at least, waiting for my day-before-release order to ship from P-A.
I'm happy to report I now have a 360 to play this game on, though. And have some sexy Sanwa buttons on their way from Lizard Lick to install in my HRAP1. Enjoying a little Resident Evil 5 in the mean time

They did. It was always announced as a bonus for people pre-ordering/receiving early copies or buying the LE. Nobody figured on HK retailers ending up with non-first print run copies right from the start. Nor did anyone figure that "first-come first-serve" meant "grab one and shove it in the box" with regard to pre-orders at Play-Asia.Aquas wrote:They could've told us about the DLC cards being first print / limited edition exclusive, too.

nZero: what exactly lowers and raises the overall counter in arrange mode? I was trying to get the 100,000 overall counter achievement, seemed pretty possible in Stage 3 Ultra Arrange but the counter went down every once in a while without me realizing why.
Too bad about this 1.01 mess.. I'm enjoying the mode myself as I was lucky enough to get the card from play-asia. I like original modes scoring system so 1.01 original is like a "hard mode" for me. I like the faster and nastier bullet patterns, stage 2 boss for example was a rush on my first few tries.

Re: [X360] Mushihime-sama Futari Ver. 1.5 is region free
You most certainly do not "own" the content on the disc. You own a physical disc, a plastic case, and some paper inserts and manuals. You also have a license to use the software code that is on the disc. Copyright law regarding software in the US, Europe, Japan, and most countries would agree.Inkvisitor wrote:1. Your comment about why you can resell the disc is distorting the concept of what is referred to in the US as the "first sale doctrine". That was intended to allow people to do things like sell a book or CD. It's far from clear whether you really have an inherent legal right to resell software licenses though. In the current state of consoles and disc based media, there are no technological restrictions so you can do so. But it's not legally mandated that publishers and console manufacturers can't do something like use technology to make you enter a registration code to play your game. In that case, you'd still have every right in the world to resell your disc, box, and instructions... but if someone else wanted to play and they couldn't re-use the original registration code, your physical media is a whole lot less valuable.
This is even the case with many existing games today - look at MMOs. Without an account code and registration, the packaged media itself is fairly worthless. Or think about buying a copy of Microsoft Windows. The disc isn't really very valuable at all, but you can't install it with your unique license key then resell it for somebody else to buy. Of course, smart publishers will happily sell potential customers a new account and not mind that they installed a program from the same disc that someone else did.

Re: [X360] Mushihime-sama Futari Ver. 1.5 is region free
All I can say is that I'm glad that I ordered from NCSX. I normally order from Play Asia but decided i'd save some on the shipping using NCSX instead and now it seems like that was a wise choice considering the DLC card fiasco. I'm actually glad 1.01 is only 100k, unlock key or not, as I don't have a harddrive for my 360 so the less space it takes up the better.
It looks, and sounds, like Cave has really outdone themselves with this port. Hopefully all the future ports will be this good with this many options. Anyone with experience with the PCB care to comment on accuracy of the slowdown?
