Raiden II/DX battery (original hardware not the new version)

I'd like my Raiden DX board to save score so anyone know where I can find a battery for this board ? It's a big red battery with 2 wire and 1 little plug, I don't know the spec though because I've never owned one.

Replacing the battery doesn't cause scores to be saved.

Yeah, it sucks. It's basically a suicide score saving battery. Has anyone ever tried swapping a known good battery out with the board powered on? Wonder if that would work or do you need a helper battery.
