Really? As far as I know, every stick that actually carries the HRAP branding (i.e. not a video game tie-in) has used quick disconnects, and they have yet to make a 360 stick in the HRAP-style casing with soldered buttons. But again, I'd like to see better photos of the Mushi Futari stick to be able to tell which way it goes, but as far as I know they've never actually soldered wires to buttons (just entire PCBs).honorless wrote:Recently Hori's been cheaping out and soldering everything instead of using QDs. I think the only current-gen stick they've used QDs on is the HRAP3.StarCreator wrote:But historically, Hori either uses quick disconnects, or solders the PCB directly to the buttons (in which case you wouldn't even be able to see the buttons from the underside at all).

I'm not saying you aren't right, just trying to put everything in perspective: I remember the days when I payed at least 65 Euros for a SNES game, and game boy games were at least 30 Euros apiece. Then again, the profit margins on CD or DVD based games are a lot bigger than for modules, I guess... Anyway, the persistent rumour that video games keep getting more expensive as time goes has been in existence for as long as I can remember. Especially if you add in downloadable games like Ikaruga this is obviously not true.Zero Gunner wrote:I was saying just the other day that with the way DLC is becoming the biggest scam in gaming history I might be sitting out future generations of consoles. I remember when UBISoft released DLC for the first Splinter Cell....they took the E3 demo (which wasn't intended to be a part of the game and was thus absent) and reworked it because so many people wished the demo level had been a part of the game. Then they added two massive extra levels...all for free, simply to promote interest in the game and reward the fans. Flash forward a few years and UBI removes the actual ending to the new Prince of Persia so they can sell it to gamers for an extra $10....even though we're already paying $10 more per game than we did last generation! Then you've got "expansions" like the Zombie Island DLC for Borderlands. A mere month after the game releases and a $10 DLC is available...content which most certainly could have been included in the retail disc. And let's us not forget Capcom's RE 5 fraud and EA's unlock keys....Personally I find it beyond despicable and if it keeps up I already have a lifetime of games I truly love playing that I'll simply go back to. No need to shell out $60+ where massive portions of content are withheld until I pay for some absurd unlock key (which I'll inevitably lose if my console/hdd dies or when the online support ceases...); not when I have piles of games I haven't spent enough time on and dozens of obscure import oddities still left to track down and add to the collection.dcharlie wrote:it'S going to be come more and more common - i understand why but not sure how i feel about it.An unlock key? Really? Et tu Cave?
Basically, it's to try and pursuade 1st hand game purchasing.
At the moment the cards have opened up minor downloads with the bonus content available if you pay, hence second hand sales have a chance to generate cash.
In truth, it's only a matter of time before some evil company puts a one time dlc card that unlocks something huge so that you have to purchase the key for the game to be of any value, thus meaning pubs effectively get cash from second hand sales

Can someone explain maniac scoring to me? I've read the EOJ guide but apparently it's not idiot proof enough and it somehow escapes me. No luck with trying to find replays either.

Ok, as it turns out, they never got to send my copy yesterday (I emailed them to verify and they said it was going out that day), because the address on my credit card didn't match >_< (change of address mustn't have gone through yet), so I'm going to use a different credit card, but before I got to call in the change... They finished for the day and I assume are now gone for the weekend >_>
For people in the know about retail, will NCSX hold my copy for me until Monday when I can make the change, or will they give it to the next person and it's possible I'll have to settle for a non-first print copy? (and thus not get my DLC card). I pre-ordered it in September, so it would suck if that ended up being the case, but the customer support seems really good, so hopefully I won't have to wait a while on top of not getting my 1.01 >_>

You're right. I'm mixing up my levers with my buttons. They've been too lazy to figure out a common ground PCB for 360 this gen and keep soldering in the levers, not the buttons.StarCreator wrote:Really? Hopefully they get their act together with the HRAP V3.
But (at least for now) you can't purchase any of Cave's unlock keys even if you want to, and a number of people who bought new copies already missed out on the card.dcharlie wrote:Basically, it's to try and pursuade 1st hand game purchasing.
...At best, ver 1.01 is going to be some sort of timed exclusive that people who were lucky enough to get some of the first copies don't have to pay for. At worst, it won't be available at all—Cave does like to work the whole L@@K R@RE angle. Pretty fucked up.

I got this game today from Video Game Imports, redeemed the dlc card for Ver1.01 used my jap account so if i play on another system I need to sign in the jap account with my 2nd pad. Then play with my normal account on my 1 pad.
Game is great in my opinion looks really nice on my 47inch 1080p lcd screen lol.... Still working out the buttons
RT = wide shot
A = narrow shot
RT + A = some sort of hybrid of the above.

I love how you can watch the replays of other people. That's really cool. I can watch the pros and get some good insight.

They've always held things for me when my payment wasn't ready. Just give them a quick email with the order number and let them know that payment is coming on monday. Or call them, they are extremely nice.Solarus wrote:

Do the leaderboards show all the highscores from all over and not just USA?

So I have been getting a lot of mixed opinions on where to order from. One guy told me to just get it off eBay, I looked there and the game is $80! On PlayAsia its only $75, and of course I will pay like 17 dollars for shipping but w/e, I want it! So where should I order it from?

yea it is worldwide, you can view the gamertag of individual people which usually shows the region that the person is from if they have it chosen in their infolawnspic wrote:Do the leaderboards show all the highscores from all over and not just USA?

Leaderboards are under Score Attack in the game menu.

Re: [X360] Mushihime-sama Futari Ver. 1.5 is region free
Considering NCSX has announced that there are wholesalers currently charging $180 a piece, I'd say even $80 was fine. It's all sold out at the moment and that's forcing demand and prices up quite quickly.Krondelo wrote:So I have been getting a lot of mixed opinions on where to order from. Pretty sure NCSX was referring to the LE only.Skykid wrote:Considering NCSX has announced that there are wholesalers currently charging $180 a piece, I'd say even $80 was fine. It's all sold out at the moment and that's forcing demand and prices up quite quickly.

Re: [X360] Mushihime-sama Futari Ver. 1.5 is region free
They were referring to the LE edition... I have one sitting on the shelf, but I opened and have been playing it so it's WORTHLESS!!!
Maybe I should have been a douche and ordered multiple copies to hang like ornaments on the Christmas tree or something.

Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

I read the guide and played a bit, sort of tried to understand i but couldn't quite figure out how this is supposed to be played.Necronopticous wrote:What, specifically, don't you understand? After playing more and watching a leaderboard replay i finally understood. It's basically progear but harder. I'd prefer chaining but it's a huge step up from the obtuse mess that was mushi scoring. Looks like fun.

So the missing dlc card is a regular or LE or both problem? The people who said they didn't receive their card, which version did you buy?

Re: [X360] Mushihime-sama Futari Ver. 1.5 is region free
Does the SE of this game without the DLC card have no round DLC sticker on the front?
If so, don't buy one without the sticker. Problem solved.
I've not seen one yet without this sticker. I think this technique by the makers is disgusting and feel sorry for people that don't have the card and wanted it.
People really should order early and not just assume they can 'pick one up' anytime. Let this be a lesson.
If people think this game is good when they have only just played it now for the first time and Ketsui gets an equally good conversion, then those same people will shite themselves I tell thee.
Calm down, it's not that good in the grand scale of the Ketsui.
