Is Gradius Gaiden the second best in the series?

I want gradius gaden, but I can't find it. It is so freaking hard to find!!!!
And im not old enough to use E-bay. My parents enforce that mercelesly.
By the way was this game released in the west? I have read so many conflicting reports it drives me to the point of panic bombing!!!

When I first had the internet at 15 or something I used to steal my parents cards and not tell them then aweek later etc I would have these parcels addressed to me lol (although I did pay them back)

In general im not allowed to purchace anything on the internet. Im 15 and you need to be 18 to leagaly do it without a parent. Sneaking a purchace is out of the question because my mom regulates what comes in the mail! And she would get suspicious if she saw me with a new game.

Plus I would also need a japaneese Playstation or PS2 in order to play it. And that would raise A LOT of suspicion with my mom.

Then win her heart. Buy her flowers. Do homeworks all the time, be nice at school, explain her that Gradius Gaiden is an exception and that you'll never use her card online again.

But, since you had to mod your psx, it would be all in vain. Are you sure you already played the tons of excellent shmups that received an ntsc/us release? They can't substitute Gaiden, but you might keep yourself busy until your 18.

Look... I'm trying to be smarter than your mom now. If anything else fails, you can ask help from a friend shmupper who lives near you. You could give him real cash and he'd buy the thing for you online.
