So if NCSX can't get a LE to me I know who I'll be flying to Japan to hunt down. Dude spent a TON of cash on all that!

Ugh, this is the last time I choose Air Economy Box on a game like this. Probably won't arrive until Monday.

CAVE has described Mushi Futari as a "test case" to measure overseas interest in their games, and Futari could very well turn the tide towards releasing more of their games in the West.
I don't know much about sales figures, especially for a game like Mushi, but does 13k sold on day 1 mean there's a chance at turning the tide?

What will likely be of more interest to Cave will be the numbers of people playing with a non-Japanese IP addresses. Also, there will likely be a number of people waiting until after release to confirm that the game is in fact region free.

My copy arrived today from videogameimports.com in the UK. After a few credits I'm hooked and my weekend is now sorted.

Still nothing. This is getting annoying.

For those who already have it, how close is it to the PCB in terms of quality and slowdown and such?

Mine arrived this morning, sadly only had about 1.5 hours to play as I have to go to work. My GF was strangely very very hyped about the game, she tolerates the shmups and plays a a bit casually but she really liked the art direction, so I let her play Novice original mode, she 1cc'd it her first time, so yeah the novice modes are really really easy, she had a blast though so that's very cool. I played around in the arrange and the normal modes a bit, having never touched Futari until today I cannot comment on accuracy, but the game feels super polished and very well put together if this what we can continue to look forward too from Cave's ports I'm buying every single one. Have fun guy's I know what I'm doing when i get out of work tonight.

OH! YAY! Sounds like I can finally 1CC a game for the first time in my life EVER! OTZ I'm such fail at shmups, but I love them.

I'm glad to hear that it runs so sweetly. If I recall correctly, Deathsmiles ran beautifully on the J360. I played that for about 5 minutes at a convention, until a more experienced shmupper wanted a go. So I kind of know what I should expect. Hurhur.

(I also discovered that Progear with an arcade stick is HARD. Even though that's how it is supposed to be played, I know...)

The one thing that really stands out is how well M2 ported this. In Death Smiles, as nice as it looked, the backgrounds and the high res foregrounds sorta clashed a bit. In this, it really looks a lot more seamless. The backgrounds look really smooth and bright. And wow, if you choose the D filter, the Arcade mode does not look bad at all. That would be a really great filter for Guwange. As anyone who has seen Death Smiles Arcade mode knows...that looked horrible.

As for the game, it is quite fun. I wasn't a fan of the original, but this one has a lot more energy. One thing I particularly like is Reco Abnormal. My big problem with the Mushi games is that they were a little too close to Do DonPachi. At least with this particular mode, I can lock on options(but you have to basically run up to the enemy to lock them), and the wide beam/powerful beam things are reversed. That was odd at first, but I quite like it now. It's enough of a twist to make it feel more different.

Hope the rest of you guys get yours soon.

I've never seen DeathSmiles in its original arcade form, so....yeah. And I've only played the older Cave games, so the graphics in Deathsmiles were very dazzling to me, I suppose.

Also, I like DoDonPachi, so I'm actually pretty glad to hear this plays a little similarly. And MORE ENERGY? AWESOME. Can't wait for my copy now! *bounces up and down in my computer chair like a maniac*

Well, the arcade version of DS looked good, it was the "Arcade Mode" on the 360 that looked so bad.

Did anyone get their P-A order yet? I'm hearing that most - if not all - of the P-A shipment doesn't include the DLC card, but I want to see if anyone got one from them already to be sure.

I'm still waiting for my shipping notice. >:[
I most definitely hate your favorite shooter.
For the sake of our own sanity, let's not even talk about Psikyo, Battle Garegga, or DDP DOJ with each other.

Well, if you play it on a HDTV it looks like ass. Looks fine via RGB scart on an SD CRT IMO.

The one feature I was crossing my fingers for made it in—you can turn the voices off. Not that I mind too much for Futari, but this bodes well for a possible MMP port.

Yeah, I had no idea what her shot/speed were like and assumed she'd just be an ever-so-slightly faster Normal Reco with a really minor shot change.

Game is badass. It has something for everybody at virtually every skill level, unless you hate everything about modern shooters.

That's an extremely optimistic ETA there for an Air Economy shipment... I wouldn't be expecting that to come in for another two weeks.

Wait, where do you download the 1.01 DLC anyway? I cant find any references to it in the games download page or in the game. The DLC card apparently advises me to go to xbox.com and do something there but I cant read japanese.

I dunno, I usually get the "air economy box" stuff in a week.
I am expecting mine next wednesday or thursday.

I ordered some games from Play Asia before with the cheapest shipping and they all arrived in 6-7 days.

Were there some instructions to making a japanese account somewhere in this topic? I may as well make it now so I can redeem my DLC card for 1.01 when it comes in, and Black Label when it comes out, but don't wanna search through 42 pages. /lazy

oh, well ill cross my fingers. ive only ordered one other thing from them before, but it was an issue of arcadia that was the 'air economy bubble' and it took a lot longer than that. maybe box/more expensive things go through the system differently

It seems to be a proper lottery. I've had stuff that arrives in 5 days flat, and I've had stuff that's almost taken a month. The big benefit of using cheap shipping is not having to pay import tax though, so it's either pay around £20 on the door, or sit around for ages waiting for it to come.
