I need a new pair of shoes.

Any suggestions? I know most people wear them, so I figure it should be something I can get some input on. I like comfy shoes. I beat the shit out of my shoes. I don't have lots of money. I wear a size 9.5 (US) shoe. Two, in fact. I have class in about three minutes, so if I've left something out, scream and beat me with a shovel and I'll supply some more informations when I get back.

I destroy my shoes across asphalt and grass and mud and dirt and stuff. My conditions are always wet and muddy.
I wear jeans and black dress pants; sometimes khakhis. I like sneakaz. I have enough boots to drown a battleship filled with sailors. Dressy shoes, meh.
I still have a bunch of shoes, but they all blow.
My budget is...like...fifty bucks.

I'm probably just going to end up getting another pair of Vans, but it's been a couple of years, so I guess that's okay.

If you're after sneakers, I'd suggest anything lowtop and casual by Adidas, Puma, Vans, or Converse. I'm currently on a pair of Vans that are about a year and a half old; still holding up quite well and super comfy.

Weird. I've never killed a pair of DCs and I've had a few dozen! The few pairs of Globes lost their shape and fell apart after a couple of months.

I pretty much only wear Vans, maybe because my feet are a tad wide and fairly flat. I dance for a living and after a long day my feet hurt a lot, Vans seem to be a lot softer on my feet than those other extremely rigid skate shoes, and they hold up fairly well too.

Sneakers are definitely my thing. Got something like 60+ pair - which isn't all that crazy since I have friends who have 400+ pairs. No shit. I love fresh kicks.

Man, 50 bucks is a tight budget for a good pair of kicks. I hate DC's, Globes, most skate shoes actually - and I skate. Nike SB's are pretty good to actually skate in, but for durability, I'm not sure. If you are looking for straight up durability, go for some good trail running shoes. Most Sports Authority's or other big box shoe stores usually have these for cheap. Mizuno and Brooks make some crazy durable joints. I have a pair of Mizuno's I've had for like three years and they only get worn in bad weather, on muddy trails, when I'm doing work out side, etc. and they look brand new (almost).

For durability + looks, Lakai makes some very good skate shoes and they aren't too crazy expensive.

Or, just say fuck it, cop a pair of Jordans, some Nike Tier Zero releases or some other nice joints and look good in what you got on.

Best advice I can give beside what to buy, is to change pairs often - wearing the same pair over and over lets bacteria grow and you'll get some stank shoes and feet. I never wear the same pair two days in a row if I can avoid it.

DC's get my vote as I'm on my second pair and have had them for almost 3 years now! Which is excellent wear for €85.

Admittedly they could do with being changed anytime soon though.
