Buying them all up to skyrocket the price eh!
Not selling one of them to me for a quarter of the original price will result in bad karma! Really! ... you don't believe me? ... Well try me! ... please!?
Please have mercy.

Eugenics: you know it's right!
Didn't you just start your PCE collection?jp wrote:And I'm getting the money by getting rid of the PC-Engine Duo R and the collection therein. Somethings just take precedence.

Yeah, but after the crappy luck he had with that, I don't blame him for putting it off... I'm sure the lure of the system will bring him back someday though.judesalmon wrote: Didn't you just start your PCE collection?
I'm not one to bash anyone for what they collect (I've always said, collect and play what makes you happy no matter what others think!). But many used consoles are so very cheap now that I don't really see any logical reason why anyone would stick with one console these days. Having too many shooter consoles is a good thing - start with a Saturn since it rocks and for the price of a single good import saturn game you can have a Dreamcast, PSX, Megadrive and SNES consoles and then start to get all of the great exclusives and better versions they have to offer. Otherwise, there are simply too many all-time great games that won't end up in your collection. I'm at the point where I've found most of my consoles at yard sales and blow-out sales at local gamestores and such - and I spend my time hunting down the best shooters (well, the best games!) for a wide vareity of cheap consoles.dave4shmups wrote:I need to just find ONE TV-console for shmups, and stick with that for good. The thread is still up, but it's like 300 threads long or something...ST Dragon wrote:Why what happened?
Did it turn out to be defective?
Thanks for the advice, but I even have trouble deciding between cartridge and disc-based consoles. I love some of the shmups on disc based consoles, but cartridge-based consoles were built to last forever-you might have to clean out some cartridges, but at least they don't have lasers that die.llabnip wrote:I'm not one to bash anyone for what they collect (I've always said, collect and play what makes you happy no matter what others think!). jp: Awesome pick-up! Those HiSaturns are amazing. I don't own one, but I've got 4 normal Sega Saturns (the better US rev 2's only... I modify them myself for Japan territory and use a converter cart for the few US games I own).
True enough, but you can also look at it this way; If you treat your game discs well, they will outlive you, and you can tell by looking if there's something wrong (i.e. a scratch, rare oxidation, etc.). Cartridges can just stop working.dave4shmups wrote: Thanks for the advice, but I even have trouble deciding between cartridge and disc-based consoles.
