Dunno yet, I hope to pop down for the duration (for beer!) since I have for the last mumblemumble years, but thought I should point out that due to politics there's two trade shows at the same time on opposite ends of London, and ATEI might not be the bigger one (though not sure about that yet).

I see - looks like EAG is the one to go to. What a ridiculous situation, dividing an industry and community like that - both suffer. I guess this kind of thing happens, and I vaguely understand why. In my side of the games industry Leipzig GC suffered a not dissimilar fate.

Anyway - be good to see you at either/both Chi-Ryu. Perhaps we could all manage to visit both? We could all travel together, while DEL goes 'overground' at 200 mph...

Anyway, yeah I cornered the Boss of Electrocoin John Sturges on it last friday. He handed me the EAG floorplan, saying something like the big boys in his sector didn't want to be relegated to the Gallery of Earls Court, so it got placed in the back end of nowhere - Excel .
He also said that they didn't want non industry members of the public there, so i'll do what I did two years ago and turn up in a suit. It secured me many hotdogs and glasses of red wine at the German Casino Concession stand
Plus it keeps those idiots at Brent Leisure off your case.

It's really not that tricky, and works every time for me. Turning up like a dirty, scruffy gamer is the same a young looking 18 year old turning up to the pub without ID.

EAG happened due to politics - from what I understand ATEI was sold to Clarion gaming, and ever since the exhibitors have been miffed about various things. Money, for one.

spadgy: Yeah, hope to see you there! I'll probably go to both. Then the pub. I noticed that the Games Convention in Leipzig bit the bullet last year (went to update some slides for a lecture for a friend with details of trade shows and expos and realised it was no more :{)

New high score for me on Dogyuun too, and slowly but surely I'm falling for that game more and more. It just needs to be louder, thanks to the new sextet of linked SFIV cabs blaring out some ungodly mayhem (looks pretty sweet actually).

I got 1.6 after people left without even going to the Ice Palace. The amount of fail that followed that stopped me getting on the scoreboard wasn't witnessed, but I think m0nks heard me turning the air blue.

We were anti-social bastards tbh.

If I get down (time and meetings pending) I'll probably be on Guilty Gear tomorrow anyway. I want to jump on and get a score in Follett though, so I'll find time. If I stop worrying about doing the Forest perfect and pumping money into the machine while calling it nasty things, I should at least hit number 10! I also want to do the hyper trick on stage 2 daifukkatsu and chain it to actually get a decent score, I can keep my chain on most stages now but I'm still pressing that hyper button after the mid-boss, which is incorrect.
