Whatever, that screen is still way too big for the viewing distance. A fact made even more pertinent with low-res games.
ZOMG!!!! that screen is like WAY to big for me to play anything on it, its SOOOOOOO low res it's gotta be on a 19 inch screen or it's ugly and makes me vomit and that covers the screen and makes it WAAAAAAAY to hard for me to like..... chain myself to victories.

Honestly.... a 29 inch screen being to big to play well on? The bit about it being low res on a large inch screen was pretty good to, classic even.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Congratualtions - you completely missed the point.

There's nothing wrong with the screen size. It's the viewing distance for a screen that size that an optometrist would have a field day with.

your point COMPLETELY was missed by me....... honestly complaining about playing a game in a candy cab?!?

I've gotten all the way to last boss and died with it having less than 25 percent of it's life left on maniac in mushi futari, a near 1CC in other words on a cab like that. I had no issues.

Oh boy. That's twice you've missed the point now.

How do I spell this out in the simplest terms possible... Sitting that close to a large CRT display is not good for your eyesight. It's not a slur on how good you may or may not be at the game.

Do you wear glasses or contact lenses?

bcass, it's really not nice to dirty up this thread with off-topic "Candy cabs will MELT YOUR EYEBALLS" paranoia.

Anyway, read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cathode_ra ... h_concerns

There are no significant health concerns.

I guess you've never heard of eyestrain and the long-term side affects that can result from it (which has nothing to do with what you just linked to).

I'll ask my eye doctor.... I actually really do have an appointment coming up. I am curious if it will match what my last doctor said.

bcass is imo just a random troll, that hates everything he can't afford. Like retail games, PCBs and Japanese cabs.
Discussing with him is pointless...

A baseless personal attack that speaks volumes about your own character much more than it does about mine. Just because I've made a point about sitting too close to a screen, that makes me a hater of cabs? What a moronic observation. Also, you do realise that the retail games you can buy online for the consoles are actually *more* expensive than shop copies don't you? You might like to engage your brain before posting next time.

Yes they are. Just looking now, all the GoD games are £19.99. I can walk into any game shop and buy most of those titles (not even necessarily 2nd hand) for far less than that. In some cases, less than half that. You can buy the Ltd Edition of Perfect Dark Zero off ebay for about £10. On GoD it's £19.99.

No they're not. We're not talking about Games on Demand here. You said that you can buy games online, but they cost above the price you can buy them in stores, which is wrong. I can think of a bunch of stores, worldwide, that offer games often below their retail price. Otherwise, people would have no reason to wait a few days after ordering online, because they could just get the game from their local store for the same price.

Also, it's your fault for living in shitfuck UK to begin with.

You're wrong - we are talking about GoD (which is why I clarified it in my second post).

If I didn't make it explicit then, I am now.

It doesn't matter what country you live in, most of the GoD titles can be bought far cheaper at retail/ebay/amazon etc.

Even that's wrong, since there's a bunch of Japanese GoD titles that are pretty hard to obtain in their original print under the price that they're being sold on GoD for.

Throwing "you're wrong" back at me with every single post you make is only making you look dumb.

So in another thread you were all pro-digital distribution and now you're against it because GoD has overpriced games for some regions. Pick a side already.

I'm done here. Step your troll game up.

I guess that completely contradicts your "online games can be bought below retail" because that's exactly what you said:
the retail games you can buy online for the consoles are actually *more* expensive than shop copies
Well, since GoD titles are purchased "online" (and I already clarified that I meant GoD titles in my 2nd post on this page) I think it's obvious for anyone with even half a brain to see that there is no contradiction there at all.
Elixir wrote:So in another thread you were all pro-digital distribution and now you're against it because Games on Demand has overpriced games. Pick a side already.
I am pro-digital distribution yes. I have also not said that I am against it because of the high prices - I merely stated that the prices were higher (in the case of GoD titles). In fact, you'll probably find a few posts of mine on the forum where I have explicitly stated that I would be prepared to pay more for online distribution because of the convenience it brings (ie - having all your games on a single HDD without having to mess about with fragile media).

Seriously, if you're going to pick peoples posts apart, you really need to read them properly before ranting. You're a prime-culprit for doing this on this forum - you simply do not read peoples posts properly. You can't accuse people of trolling simply because you start typing before you've engaged your brain.

Guys, this thread is about some tool playing DOJ. If you want to have a slapfight over digital distribution bullshit take it to the digital distribution bullshit thread.
