Candy Cab: Buy VS Build?

Has anyone here built their own candy cab?

I don't think I can find an actual one around here (Kansas City), so I was possibly thinking about building my own.

Haven't built one, but always watch threads about it at places like Shoryuken with interest. There was someone who build an Astro City repro that looked like ass. However someone recently completely a mini Vewlix style cab over there that looked pretty bad ass. Guess it all depends on how much time you have, how much money you have, and how confident you are in your skills.
