I'll see if I'm about, but I promise I'll be 100 per cent sure before I promise!

I haven't bought much PCB wise recently, and you know me – my taste and budget means 90s shooters. I've got Dogyuun, Dodonpachi and Bells and Whistles (Detana Twinbee) recently, and I'm happy to lend them, but I doubt they're of interest. Other than that there's Strikers 1999, Viper Phase 1 New Version and, er, Progear. And I know you don't want Taito Fighting Hawk or Raiden I or II!

I can try for 13-15th November too, would that be alright for both Friday and Saturday nights?

I'm down in london for at least the weekend, if anyone's around!

Though I generally head to the casino early afternoon, randomly. Though since DFK is in, I may be in for longer than usual :D

Hey - I'm free all weekend with little to do, so I could meet you at pretty short notice. Be good to meet you as we missed oneanother at IC09. I'll PM you my mobile number now so you can drop me a text or call!

I'll be down at 7.30pm tonight, with Mrs spadgy!

Heyas :) can I get any update on if I can stay over on the Friday/Saturday on the weekend of the 13th?
Just need to know asap, its really annoying when you live far away, and have to get transport in advance...

about the date 13th Nov... i was quoting on the weekend after (20th-22nd Nov)...
as i said before, i have a 'random-weekly rota'... the rota comes out every friday, so i don't know when i'm off next week until tomorrow... let alone next month
but don't stress out, i know how you feel...
whats annoying is... while most people work monday to friday, 9am-5pm and weekends off...
i'm working 7:30am-6pm (most days) or 12pm-1am (some nights) and random 5-6 days a week...
but the good thing is... every fridays is a surprise to me

Anyone got an R-Type board??
I can bring R-Type LEO if you'd like?

Been meaning to share the shooting love with Casino, it's easy too as my bro can always drop off and pick up with DEL if I'm not in London.

Oh I know CHI, I was trying to find out which of the two weekends would be better, and if its okay for me to come on the Friday too.
I'll be buying my travel tickets soon, if I can get things sorted.

Excuse the rattyness, I'm not feeling too great :?

R Type Leo sounds fine, I've never beat it so I could do that.
Skykid, I assume it is that 2 button Radiant Silvergun version that you have? It's quite impossible :D

You mean 3 button?

Afaik, the US version had a weird 3 button only setup, whereas the JP one utilises all 6. It's a JP cart and ST-V mobo, and I have a kick harness for it too - although I've not got around to wiring it up (simple to do though.)

I could have the whole thing backwards mind you.

2 button - 3 weapons (pressing both gets the 3rd)
3 button - 6 weapons

Something like that, I didn't spend much time on the game, so I can't confirm it all.

Ah right, is that broken 2 button setup for the US version? (fingers crossed!)

Hey Smraedis! I'm going to have to look in my diary - which is at work right now.

Great to see everybody who was down Friday, even if Chi and DEL spent all their time going to Selfridges! Really nice you breifly got to meet my wife too.

And yes - I'd live to lend Dogyuun in place of Tatsujin Oh. Chi - I could try and five it to you Saturday, if you're Ok taking it. I'll drop you a text tomorrow afternoon.

Skykid - I'd love to see LEO - and m0nks would go crazy for it I reckon...

LEO would be grand but... Radiant Silvergun :P gets my vote. 6 buttons, 3 buttons - whatever, it's a classic and isn't emulated (as far as I know) - playing it in an arcade would be pretty, pretty good.

Hmm, was your Radiant Silvergun the one at IC09? If so, that was the bad version :(

Still not well at all :(

We've subsequently worked out what the problem was. Wrong region motherboard.

Yeah, we're confident we were running a JP cart on a US motherboard, which gives that result.

Man, I know for sure mine is a Japanese cart and mobo - there's no way it got released in Japan like that. So it's the good version (if 3 buttons for RSG is actually 'good' - gimme a Saturn pad! :P )

Thanks for the exp. cools.

Do you guys want RSG or LEO then? You can have both of course, just which one would you want me to bring down first?

(That Hori screen is awful btw, the levels on DS are shot to hell on it, so neither of these games will be done much justice.)

I'm up for LEO, but I appreciate more people may be up for RSG, so whichever.

My Dogyuun PCB in now in CHI's safe hands - perhaps going in on Monday...

That's just stupid.. but it is good that we can play the better version.

I don't mind which of the games are put in, I've never played either game that much, and should learn both of them.
Yeah that screen should be replaced with one of the others :D

Well, I'm not down for a while afaik, so plenty of time to figure it out. I might bring both and leave em in London so they can be swapped out if anyone gets bored.

I'd make a recommendation for Tengai though - only Psikyo game I really dig, and much nicer on arcade hardware.

Now I'm tempted by Tengai - I do own the other two as ports. Perhaps we should go for the less obvious one!

I'm sure I told someone about this in advance (was one of my mate's board and games, and the region mismatch with RSG was known). I guess the message didn't get through!

In any case, I can confirm 100% that JP Radiant Silvergun runs very differently (read: broken) on a non-JP motherboard and totally fine on a JP motherboard, so yeah.

It's a real beauty of a game too, a shame that that screen won't do much for it though. :?

I'm pretty sure it's JPN region. It's a JPN board on all defaults.

I'm excited to get it in the arcade, as it should get me into playing it again. I never really played it when I got the PCB back in May. I thought maybe the board was broken at the time, so it went on the back burner for me. But it turned out months later it was the wiring of my arcade stick. Sadly, once on the back burner it stayed there.

In an arcade cab though - that will really motivate me to play it. Especially as fellow double play nut DaveK tells me Dogyuun is great for two-stick shenanigans.
