I've not actually played Xbox CTC, but I hope they did a better job with the bonus tracks than in the original - they were truly shocking on OR2, with an appaling frame rate and sub-DC textures. They clearly were not designed for OR2's handling and were no fun to race as a result.

I guess you are NOT talking about the Japanese version which apparantly was better.
I guess it's like this:
Japanese OR2 xbox > Non-Japanese OR2 xbox The Japanese version of the game was slightly altered further, fixing some glitches and altering the bonus stages. Another difference is the character Holly wears a different costume and the character Clarissa wears her original costume from the Japanese arcade version (basically the same except it is more revealing than the costume used for the western versions). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OutRun_2

I wasn't aware of any changes being made to the bonus tracks, and although the article seems to suggest this there's nothing in the way of detail there. Only version I've played is the UK Xbox OR2, and the bonus tracks on that are horrid.
I have no idea regarding OR2006/CTC as the only version I played was the PSP, and I found the analogue nub such a shotty control method I gave up on the game. I've got my fatty Xbox set up again now, so I'll probably pick up the UK CTC, don't know if this has any bonus tracks or not.
I figured both OutRun2's had the Scud Race tracks, so I've heard until what you mentioned. I'll read more about this shortly. There's also OutRun available but it pales in comparison to the Saturn NTSC-J OutRun (60fps or bust).

I have the japanese outrun 2 for quite some time.... they are not THAT enhanced over the USA version, as far as the bonus tracks go.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

I don't have that one yet - I'm assuming it's for the original XBox? I only have about 6 or 7 games for my XBox yet. Next time I go to the nearest GameStop town I might see if it's in their massive used/closeout stockpile & see if I can get it cheap. Might be worth a few bucks. Thanks for the tip.
Yeah, Turbo Outrun on the Mega Drive was a huge disappointment alright. I bought it years ago expecting a decent game and needless to say I wasn't impressed. It's a damn shame too 'cause if they had managed a port on par with the original it could have been a great game.
