sdlmame, and modelines

Post by KBZ »

trying to get some decent output to a vga crt with sdlmame but the image is very washed out.

I'm assuming that the best solution is to add some modelines for 320x240 and such, as well as use some fake scanlines.

I'm not too sure how to write my own modelines or how to use these modeline calculators.

maybe I can find some advice from our sdlmame users?

here's my xorg.conf

thanks!

Your best bet is to spend some time on the SDLMAME forum.

There's a lot of info you need to take in to get it going nicely. Particularly with regards to fake scanlines.

I seem to have found a different way of going about this.

I was able to choose 320x240 in nvidia-settings, and from there I added aperturemres from the J4 pack. I think this looks pretty decent.
