Apparently the best use Sweden has for bunnies is burning them for biofuel!

Eugenics: you know it's right!

It's weird as hell, but it's not animal cruelty in any way. They are killed beforehand you know, not all countries are blessed with an abundance of sheepskin
While it's a shame that the rabbits had to be introduced to such a place through no fault of their own, and are now being killed out of necessity by those who caused the problem in the first place (humanity in general, I mean, not the specific people doing the killing), once they're dead what's done with them afterwards kind of loses its importance in comparison...guess one might as well be practical. Though I'm more concerned as to whether measures of some sort have been put in place to hopefully prevent this sort of thing from happening again.
No controvery as far as I'm concerned...and I love rabbits. But when the place is crawling with them and they're not a native species, it's the only right thing to do.
People ought to have some freedom in picking their pets, but you can't be a wimp and let it roam free when you can no longer care for it. The rabbits ain't nothing, dogs and pigs have been the worst offenders (along with rats but you can't really prevent them from hitching rides). A lot of attention goes to snakes and crocs that are left or escape as well.
Seems like such a waste, all that meat going to waste but then the situation with mad cow disease was heartbreaking all those cows burnt and incinerated but there was no other way.
