Yep, fired up the DC 's Yu Suzuki comp last night, Power Drift, Afterburner 2, OutRun and Space Harrier still look grogeous. Plus the DC versions seems higher res than I remember, but without any filters, just really crisp and clean. Shame the sound in OutRun is off though.

Played a bit of Cosmic Smash, and that's another game I really enjoy the look of - I can't imagine it would look any different even on today's hardware other than maybe higher res.

There is alot flavours out there, I was blown away, Too many to think about. Blows my mind, thinking about the tasty colors of rainbow, graphics.

One thing I was looking at recently, was how they had attached sprites together to make the character move with real likeness. You guys all know the obvious ball-arm Octopus, but imagine if all sprites was realistic like that.

I say the Saturn was the limit, Since every system before that, ( including an original AMIGA series ) could be upgraded with a 3d graphix card. I am not kidding you, you could run high end 3d games, and still be able to play on an AMIGA system  .

The arcade versions of Turbo and Buck Rogers were both very impressive graphically for the time they came out and still manage to impress me.

I was wowed with vector graphics the first time I saw them and they still look great today.

I was impressed with the detail and 3D effect for Space Harrier 3D Master System, despite the low framerate.

Just posted this in under rated games, but Just Cause (especially for an early X360 game) has some moments where it looks utterly amazing (and some where it doesn't! the ground fight sections spring to mind).

But hey - take a vehicle out for a spin and throw yourself out at 30k feet and it's all good!

I love vectors, though I doubt we'll ever see them used for a new title. A shame really, now we have HD, they'd finally look as good on a console as they did on a proper arcade monitor.
