CAVE MAME help

I recently had to wipe my whole HD so I had to start my PC over from scratch. I downloaded MAME 32 again and some CAVE roms and they don't work. They say they are missing bin files u41 and u42. Can anyone help?

Taking your post seriously, you should check for the standard MAME mistakes:

• current MAME versions with obsolete roms (possibly the right data with obsolete names)
• obsolete MAME versions with current roms
• missing parent sets when you try to play a clone
• missing BIOS sets, which are easy to forget

MAME32 has been called MAMEUI for quite a long time (since the introduction of a 64 bit edition).

If they're missing two specific ROMs within the files, it's not a case of misnamed archives. You could always run ClrMAMEpro if you think it's a possibility, though I wouldn't waste the time, I'd just redownload.

If you're just googling around to find roms you probably got older versions. Best bet is to either just try other sites, or find a full set torrent.

Or get an older version of MAME, which will like the easily-obtained old roms. 0.99 is nice for Cave games, as savestates still work.
