So in a nutshell, they're sending out their latest master ver. for testing and whatnot, and that DOJ's patch has nothing to do w/ Ketsui's delay.

And they're going to be showing more Espgaluda II pics near the end of the month... and they'll be announcing some new ports "soon"... right?

Um... the wallpaper(s) in the background of the port is terrible and distracting. Is it likely you could just set it to black?

The 'long and terrible wait' started 16 days ago. :P

I'm taking this time to try to 1CC Mushihimesama Maniac before Mushi Futari. That, or score 100,000,000. Whichever comes first.

Enjoy your obscure button tappan techniques to make the multiplier be something not crappy.

Nah I'm in the same boat as you, good luck on your 1cc (I just got mine not too long ago, no regrets when futari comes now) although playing for score seems like a whole different can of worms. I'm working on Original mode 1cc now, oddly enough its been more of a bitch than maniac has been

I suck at Original in comparison to Maniac. Fast bullets and I are not friends. :P

And I've got the 'obscure button tappan techniques' down, it's just applying the techniques so my multiplier stays not crappy that's my problem now.

While I don't care a lot about the other modes in Mushi 1, I still think Original is the best thing ever. As someone who prefers the Psikyo style over typical Cave-fare, I really dig the straightforwardness of the mode. Not having an elaborate scoring system is something I do appreciate in this case, too. I wish Cave would explore the field of undiluted straight-to-the-point shooting in future games, but I seem to be in a minority.

I agree Original is the only way to go in Mushi. When I first started playing it felt wrong in a Cave title, but now it's the only mode I can stand. All that shot-speed manipulation kind of ruined the other modes for me.

I love original too, but after getting a few 1cc's on it I've moved on to maniac and I'm enjoying that too - although I'm clueless about scoring on it, just playing for the clear.

Yeah, there's much more than meets the eye in non-Original Mushi. ;)

I don't bother dealing with all these intrincacies.
I'm also playing Maniac for fun, on defaults.

Check this guide out here.

While some people don't like all of the various button-tapping frequency techniques in Mushihimesama, I slowly fell in love with it. It's more than just dodging bullets-- you feel so much more involved in the game.

And yeah, Original mode is fun, I will give it that. It almost feels like I'm playing CAVE's take on a Psikyo game-- but the catch is, I suck a lot more at Psikyo games than I do at CAVE games :P

Wow, thanks. I was so fixed on original I didn't even look into this. In all honesty, that sounds a bit much - but like any Cave shmup getting the hang of it will surely open the game up.
Not sure I can be bothered though.

I recall people talking about some arcade machines being equipped with custom rapid fire circuits for this game. Anyone modding their home-sticks for this?

If you've played the PS2 version, it actually has all these options built in. You can tweak the crap out of it until you find the sweet spot. Pretty odd they included that in the home release, as it seems like a pure hack, but I guess that's what the arcade players would have expected anyway. I'm really hoping Futari is more straightforward.

That's another thing. I haven't even bothered playing around with the rapid-fire settings yet :P

I want to get on the Maniac scoreboard at least before doing that stuff.
