It looks like NCSX is still taking orders for the LE, they do have a nice let's cover our asses disclaimer on it though.

" Please note: The distributor included a precaution in the solicitation that preorders may be cut by Cave. Sort of like the debacle that was Death Smiles LE. Due to this potential shortage, please be aware that prices may increase if we have to source the game from Japanese retail. "

Instead of the carefree happy scenes displayed above, mass market focus group testing would probably result in changing the cover to highlight the scenes of death in the game. Resulting in new cover art showcasing a Gears of War-esque monster insect piercing her heart, and changing the title to Bug Wars.
Bah, no way. That would just be stupid and wrong.

Oh btw I heard that XS Games will be doing localization for this game in the United States. They have already posted the new box art:

Agreed. It looks great...the LE version looks like a bad Dragon Ball-Z rip-off...or some Fantasy-themed, cooking RPG.....

Well since XBL is tied to your account and not the X360 itself, I would imagine that worst case, you have to create a JP account to download it. Once it's on your hard drive, you can log into your main account since the DLC is tied to your specific xbox in addition to the account that downloaded it.
Something else to keep in mind: Live has separate points for each region. To purchase DLC using a Japanese account, you will need to get Japanese points (I use point cards from Japan, however I've heard you can also buy them off Live using a credit card with an address in Japan). Point cards from other regions will not work.

Ah, good to know. The points cost the same though, right?

Usually they do not cost the same. (Japanese points are definitely more than North America points, for example)

Also, you might have to enter a Japanese adress when you redeem the points card in Live!

I'm using CD Japan's address :D . Lukily it enters in most of the city/provice info automatically once you fill in the area code, so you don't have to mess with entering any kanji.

Well that's convenient that I could just use any Japanese address :P

How much more are we talking for points, here? I need to know so I can make sure I don't overspend and not have enough.

Prefer the LE cover - but perhaps that's just because I'm bored of seeing the other one a million times already.

though it was easy enough to get an LE DS on the launch day, i'm taking no chances and preordered a month or so ago.

Wasn't aware of the Mushihime-sama stick though - looks nice, but at 14,800 yen (and given i have two sticks already) it's not necessary - though i'm sure it's value will only go up if it's another limited run.

Another question for those in the know...

Something about the first Mushi just didn't do it for me. I think it was the bullet patterns. Are the patterns better in this game? I've seen them in videos, and they don't seem over the top like Galuda II, but how does the game feel?

The games feel alike. The scoring in Futari is way better though.

Original mode is done much better in futari than the first, and has an actual scoring system.

Original mode in the original Mushi wasn't really playable. In futari its actually fun and the scoring system makes it funner once u get the hang of it ( based on Black Label).

You know, late November seems really far away.

I can only imagine once I get it, about a month after it i'll start waiting on Galuda II. And that will be even more so.

Too bad there aren't any arcades around here.

Maybe if you're playing the PS2 version, otherwise that's a real bullshit statement.

I play it on a tube TV. It's sure as hell playable :) (Though, I do have trouble seeing shit on the TLB :D ) The first 2 stages can be a bore.

Yes, it sucks.
They're sold in different amounts too.

Check this out [ebay.com]. I don't know about Europe, but here in North America they're sold in 800, 1600 and 4000-point increments, with an MSRP of $10, $20 and $50 USD respectively. Japan's point cards are sold in increments of 700, 1400 and 3500, and while I'm not sure about the MSRPs, it looks like the final cost to North America via eBay will come out to be about $5-10 USD more than their local equivalents (which have more points also).

All in all, not a complete tragedy if we really want Japanese DLC. It could have been double the price or something.

The LE boxart doesn't make me think "shooter" as much as the normal edition, but HACCAN's art is gorgeous. I'm jealous. Just not $50 jealous.
Zero Gunner wrote:Uggghhh....Why do Cave LE's get worse Boxart than the standard? It's like they want to punish you for buying the better version by giving the standard the better art...or maybe it's so you'll by both so you're not embarrassed about having a game that looks like a pervy dating sim.

Since you're that down on it, I'd be happy to cover shipping if you're in the USA and want to swap covers. ;)

Yeah I am playing the PS2 version, I did play it at the Hong Kong arcades once. But I was playing it on Maniac mode so I can't really compare.
