I meant the artistic direction.adversity1 wrote:5pb was working on some sort of extra mode for the Ketsui release which was going to be a lot like their BLEX extra mode, i.e. shitty bullet cancelling mechanics piled onto an existing classic game. Not a Shmup but I want a sequel to "Chaos Legion"
Capcom can make a million street fighers, devil may cry's, Even breath of fire's, why not a sequel to CL.
I'll just play it over again

Einhander sequel would be totally awesome. If anything, then a remake with updated graphics. Einhander HD FTW!!!
Re: If you could choose a sequel
I'd go for a Progear 2, as long as Cave and Capcom do the team up again.

Without question MarsMatrix2, in high resolution naturally (doesn't have to be HD, just a solid step up from the first ugly game.... although the grittiness was somewhat endearing).

You sick bastard, they're not making any more BoF's either.fogelmir wrote:Not a Shmup but I want a sequel to "Chaos Legion"

Yeah I agree though with Chaos Legion, I could go on all day about Capcom sequels I'd like to see. Funny since Capcom is synonymous with sequelitis. Capcom really just has Street Fighter and Mega Man although really, they make new series all the time, the problem is only that they're called Mega Man. Legends and Battle Network and Zero etc are all different series mechanics-wise from mainline, they might as well be titled something else.
Mario gets whored out way more than Mega Man though and nobody complains about that. And other companies like Konami (just look at their rhythm lineup if nothing else) churn out way more sequels. It's all just reputation though. Think about how many FF or DQ games and spinoffs were made in between the time the first and last BoF games were made, and there were only 3 BoF's in between.
Re: If you could choose a sequel
Progear for me. And Raiden V better be happening...

I think all us Cave nuts in London will say Progear :)

Re: If you could choose a sequel
An all out new Parodius featuring the old and loved characters & enormous Penguins.
That and if they could maintain quality levels of the second title: Gunbird III indeed.
Also some unique titles might better be left sequel-less, as anything new could only ruin their legacy,
a game like Harmful Park for instance.

The score attack mode of that game could certainly do with being fleshed out into a full game. I guess fleshed out carries a connotation of diluting by adding in filler, so perhaps I mean 'expanded'.Super Laydock wrote:

Mars Matrix is pretty much the sequel to Giga Wing, so Giga Wing 2 is a logical progression, I know this doesn't work too well and for that you might be interested in a Takumi game called Night Raid (which is even worse to bring up but is a good game anyway)chempop wrote:Without question MarsMatrix2, in high resolution naturally (doesn't have to be HD, just a solid step up from the first ugly game.... although the grittiness was somewhat endearing).

also directed at any others looking for a Psikyo sequel: a sequel to a Psikyo game would be nice but realistically it would probably either be a not-shmup or turn out like Sengoku Cannon; ask yourself if you like Sengoku Cannon and would want to see anotherSuper Laydock wrote:That and if they could maintain quality levels of the second title: Gunbird III indeed.

This is true. I'm sure the name itself adds 40-50k copies sold even for the shitty ones.lgb wrote:you know this would never have happenedEnhasa wrote:Capcom really just has Street Fighter and Mega Man although really, they make new series all the time, the problem is only that they're called Mega Man. Re: If you could choose a sequel
Thundercade
instead Seta went on to make shit with amazing 30 second digitized music loops, YEZ They forgot the fact that Thundercade was cool because you could blow up nearly every building onscreen in glorious animated crumbly detail, not just trees and houses that go "poof" as well as being able to shoot watchtowers out from under soldiers without their minding. Of course, scoring and game design seems to have been pretty much random when it comes to Seta shooters.
