John Davison, former 1UP Editorial Director and founder of What They Play, will be leading GamePro's editorial team, starting this week.
You may have heard on Kotaku, and you might be here to find out straight from the horse's mouth.
Well, all of us at GamePro are telling you it's true. John Davison is joining GamePro Media as the Executive Vice President of Content! Davison will begin working here at GamePro within the week.
Davison brings experience from a career in gaming media even longer than GamePro has been around. Most notably, he's served as Editor-in-Chief of both Electronic Gaming Monthly and The Official PlayStation Magazine, 1UP Editorial Director, and founder of What They Play.
As far as what he plans to do here at GamePro, Davison told Kotaku, "Working at What They Play for the last two years and working outside the world of hardcore readers and users you start to notice what some of the gaps are, what people complain about and what they're yearning for."
