It seems like I'm the only person who ever has any problems with soft15khz. I've always just assumed that if it doesn't work on a PC it's because the video card isn't supported. I don't really believe that anymore. I have four or five same-spec PCs with 100% identical hardware. I installed Radeon X1600s on them (yes, gutted from TypeX2), installed drivers and set soft15khz to run 15khz, restarted, works.

Now, formatted a new drive, installed motherboard drivers, video driver, soft15khz and it does not work. Tried it on another harddrive, did not work. And so on. What is so hard to use about this software that it causes me nothing but headaches? I could really use some help with this, it's frustrating me to no end.

Did you install it on the correct adapter? Some video cards have multiple adapters (dual vga and or DVI etc) so it's a pretty easy mistake to make.

I install it on both to make sure I cover that mistake.

Sorry, when you re-installed was this a new graphics driver version or same? ... try an older one? Beyond that no idea... again what little I know I shouldn't have thought it would effect soft15 but some of those gpus are heavily programmable ... I must suspect this is a driver based problem of one kind or another ...

All hardware and software used are the same. Just the working one is an install of Windows that has been around longer.

A version of windows that hasn't been around as long?... does this mean a version that isn't xp? ... soft15 doesn't work with vista and 7 as far as I am aware ...

For compatibility sakes maybe ensure xp sp2 ...

Otherwise not sure what else could be the problem...

Probably just me being stupid. What I meant by being around longer is that I've had XP on it longer, and it had time to install other stuff, no idea what would make a difference, but if you know what I mean.
