Honestly i dont think a great percentage of this whole forum actually plays any shmup to much extent , to busy perving over the graphical style or moaning about the scoring systems to actually sit down and learn them.

Since my dip switches apparently were being jerks: If it was set to bonus life every 1000k already by default, does it matter if the territory was not set to Japan?

Seems like there's a bit of unwarranted bashing going on here.

I can't speak for everyone, but I've played BG a lot over the years. I just never really played it for score.

Can someone explain to me why, when BH comes out of the bomber in st5, sometimes the debris doesn't appear?

DoubleThink - The Team With No Name - 2,339,240 - Plant - Bornman (ABC) - MAME

Hittin' a bit of wall here... need to find a tactic to get past that part in the middle of Plant. The game is also less-fun again now that I'm trying to chain medals... since they fall faster than you can move... and like to appear the moment I die.

Saturn pad USB adapters? You won't like the input lag though, no reason to play on Mame over a good port.

I'll add a picture if I do not manage to beat this by next week. Six million is the goal.

Question about the screen display on the Saturn in tate: The right and left edges are just slightly cut off (one half of the "1" in "1P" at the top left and part of the last remaining stocked ship, for example), is this normal?

I have seen two videos of other people playing on CRTs in tate and the same problem appears. I have tried it on a CRT and an LCD monitor through S-video, both experience the same effect. Even displaying the game on the monitor in 1:1 pixel aspect (ie., a very small picture in the middle results) shows that the sides are indeed cut off.

It is noticeable for this game since some of the HUD is right at the edge, in fact I have the same problem with Batsugun.

The problem is not an overscan or other display issue (as evidenced by the 1:1 pixel aspect experiment); the information coming from the Saturn does not include those edges.

Thanks for letting me know yours looks the same. It really isn't a big problem; trying to get higher scores worries me more.

Good news: I finally got the 1cc.
Bad news: It was worse than my previous score.

Wow, this game is amazing when you play it right. It basically encourages you to play "dodge everything" but still shoot things 8) Just a new score after bashing my head against a wall for a couple hours earlier; with some practice I should be able to go higher. Could use some damn big bomb icons though.
