That LE cost me $150 USD shipped and I had to pay in advance. I don't exactly call that "easy", but I am glad that I was able to secure one so early.

I think originals said he can get them for others, $130 each.
Hmmm is that right... I wonder how much it would be total after import fees and such. I think I'd be quite interested.

Yesasia.com have had it up for pre-order for a week or so now;

Haha-- ah, I see.

I'm gonna wait for Play-Asia's price before jumping on the $130 price on yesasia.

Are the yesasia LEs the ones with faceplates as well or something? $130 seems pretty high if it's the "2nd rate LE".

The no cover picture isn't a great sign either though >_>

The LE is the same all around, but preordering here nabs you the preorder bonuses.

If developer stores keep this up, combined with amazon.jp, there won't be any retail stores in Japan soon.

Ah I see. Those faceplates are pretty awesome. It'd be nice if I could get a copy.

Despite the fact that I do not own a 360 and don't plan on it, I may still buy Futari for two reasons:

1: supoort region-free Cave releases
2: mooch off friends' 360s to play it every once in a while

I think every Cave fan with the money ought to buy this, whether or not they have a 360, just based on this quote from Makato Asada:
"This will have a direct impact on whether Espgaluda II and other titles will be localized for America. So it's probably a good idea to pick it up!"
"I think Ikaruga is pretty tough. It is like a modern version of Galaga that some Japanese company made."

to be fair, a preorder at yesasia means nothing at all.

...if it did then I would have received my copy of DS from them.

So how, exactly, are Cave going to figure out which copies sold to domestic users and which sold to overseas importers?

This news is as good as it is surprising. Was not expecting this at all. Seems my cynicism has failed me for once.

Or they could keep an eye on the game's leaderboards.

Hey, even though I havea JP 360, this is GREAT news. Hopefully we'll see a trend. There's no reason to punish Western shmup fans. Hell, not one of their games have ever been localized here. Just make 'em region free guys. Hopefully it'll do well, and ESPGaluda II will be region free also.

Too bad Death Smiles wasn't. Woulda saved me some cash. :x

Watch when they find out there are waaaayy more people on the leaderboards than the the amount of copies they shipped out.

I'm a bit conflicted by this. On one hand, I'm happy for everyone that couldn't otherwise play this. On the other hand, I just bought my J-360 a few months ago, and it feels a bit pointless now if these games will be region free/getting localized.

Ah well, no changing it now.

Looks like We of the Cheap and Lazy made an incredibly handy decision in keeping our US360s ^_~ I know I sure didn't give a damn about DOJBLEX or Deathsmiles, but Mushi Futari 1.5, Gal-2, and Ketsui are really the games I wanted (even though Ketsui still might never be playable on NA360s. Or Gal 2, for that matter). If DFK makes it to my 360, I will go absolutely apeshit with joy.

It's possible they can get the data from Microsoft's Xbox Live statistics.

This is really great news, but I have one little worry concerning the localization. The voices and dialogue in-game. I wonder if they're just going to leave it, or actually get a studio to dub over it. In which case, not looking forward to butchering of a moe-blob character like Reco and phrases like "Kyan! bikkuri-shita" >_>.

Still buying 1-3 copies at my local lamestop anyways, should they carry it.

There is no localisation. It's a region-free import.

hmm, maybe I will buy 2 copies just to show support for this move/experiment...

If Cave pulls it off successfully, others might follow. :)

How is that determined? Just by locale?

Pretty awesome news, even if it is a bit late for Death Smiles. I'm definitely getting a copy.

Death Smiles PCB - $500
Death Smiles BL PCB - $?

I'll probably buy it since there's nothing coming out for months except for L4D2, but does anything set this apart from their other semi-recent verts? The trailer makes it look like I've already bought this a few times.
