No one tends to know whats coming out on PSN or XBLA until a day or two before it's release.

Microsoft and Sony are stingy with those details.

Here's a direct feed of our design director, John Knowles playing through the demo. It gives some good detail on the score system and how the multiplier works.

I wish I could tell you a date. That's all up to Konami. We're nearing the end of localization fixes, and are nearly bug-free at this point. It could be quite soon, but I don't know what their marketing plans are. Since it was on X-Play last night I have to think it's not far off. I'll post again as soon as we have a solid date/price.

I can't wait for someone to 1CC it! It's not going to make you sweat like DDPDOJ's level 2-5, but I'm the only person in the office outside of QA that's been able to do it.

I did a blog piece for Playstation.com. Still no exact date or price from Konami, but it's coming soon for sure.

We hit a few snags when Konami QA found a few really obscure bugs. "Everyone pull their ethernet cable while also signing out while in the lobby with the game installed on a memory unit" type of stuff. As far as I know we're very close to bug free right now, and the game should be going into submissions here very, very soon. My hope is that it'll be out sometime in August if everything goes smoothly. I'll be back with a full update once I know something more.

Looks very cool. Hopefully I can convince my friend who has a PS3 to come over and play it once it's out.

Watching the videos definitely makes me miss playing Monster Madness on my 360, though. :'(

It's kinda weird how the top-down arena games have seen quite the resurgence in popularity in the West while traditional scrolling shooters get overlooked... Dunno if it's just the dual-analog nature of the games being particularly well-suited for modern consoles or if it's something else.

it was funny, a couple of months back i got together with a few other devs from different companies (friends of friends) and we brainstormed a title very similar to this and even called it "zombie apocalypse," wrote out a whole 1st draft of a design doc and character sketches and all of that. smash TV style, retro, very very similar.

about a week in i see "zombie apocalypse" on IGN ("oh come on are you kidding me!") - wasn't too big a shock, as burn zombie burn had just released and there's a few of these out there now. We changed our title, theme (no more zombies!) and started substantially changing the gameplay setup, ended up getting something really interesting together but unfortunately it fell apart :( Was pretty funny at the time though!

looking forward to your game, anyway - checked it out at E3, feels pretty polished! Good luck!

Zombie Apocalypse has been approved in North America and Asia for XBLA and PSN. No firm release date from Konami yet, but it could be coming out by the end of the month if we're lucky. European submission process is taking longer, so they may be waiting to see if they can get a global date for all territories.

For now check out our blog: http://www.nihilistic.com/blog/

Well, "Zombie Apocalypse" is the most generic name that anyone can come up with (right after "Zombies"). I actually thought first that Zombie Apocalypse was a working title for Dead Nation, because the screen shots look so amazingly similar.

At least there is no shortage of Zombie mayhem on the PSN, with Burn, Zombie Burn out and Zombie Apocalypse and Dead Nation coming soon (Dead Nation was playable at GamesCom, and there was a text saying it's like 51.7446 percent complete. And yes, the game totally rocked!)

Personally, I don't like cartoony graphics of BZB so ZA and DN are the interesting games here. Will be buying them both. Now, if only someone would cross-breed these with Resident Evil type of adventuring...
Before Pope John Paul died he decreed that Aliens were also GOD's creatures and we should treat them with respect.

Ah, cool to hear. We heard that the 360 build might just sneak out, as the main hang-up is Sony Europe. I assumed that Konami would wait to release both at the same time, but glad to hear it's out over there in some form.

Pretty cool game, but 55 days sorta drags on. And the 7 days of hell, was ridiculously long. I kept wondering when the spawns would stop. Some flaws in the game overall that make it cheap/easy.

After about 25 minutes messing about with the trial, I have to say I like it.

Of all the arena shmups I've played lately (fucking too many), this one feels the most like Smash TV, which is a good thing.

Co-Op should be interesting.

Good job,

Yeah, this game is WAAAAYYYY too long. Especially keeping in mind that if you actually want to do a score run you have to do it all in one session, with no exiting out. A "quick save" option that deletes itself after you load would have been really nice in this instance.

This game just did not live up to my expectations. I'm not completely dissatisfied with buying it but there's just a lot of potential here that I don't think was fully met. Of course right now I'm just bitter because I managed to get to the last boss with no continues, 14 lives in reserve... and still couldn't beat it. What a cheap-ass load of shit.

Yup. It still is a good game. The other modes i'll give a try. Dont know what else is left after that. I'll play awesome through 20 days and then i start getting bored and just die. So, doing a score run on 55 days will not be happening.
