No, but it's worth questioning in the first place. Same thing w/ DOA's jiggle... necessary? No. I understand that it floats some peoples boats, but it makes me hink that the game wouldn't sell if it was absent. I think NG has enough merits to sell with or without, though. My original point was that I find most violence in games these days tacked on... that's all. Personally I'd rather have it in it's original form if I had the choice, but still doesn't mean I won't voice my opinion.
It's like "eastern dipshits" complaining if I changed all the effeminate heroes of their Final Fantasy games to look more like the guys from Gears of War.

Well, it's the same thing really, just a different touch. Look at VF5... all the male characters are pussified (at least in looks) to draw women players in. They all look like jackasses for the most part. And I'm a huge VF fan. It's the unfortunate state of the gaming world. These are just examples... hardly the only offenders. I will always view it as selling out. I still play VF5 though. Our beloved Cave is an embodiment of this as well.
I also laughed thinking of ninja gaiden's atmosphere as anything resembling artistic. It's artistic the way the movie Commando is artistic.
Well, artistic expression doesn't necessarily mean artistic. I mean, look at Tarantino violence. It's gratuitous to say the least, but I still find artistically expressive. I just don't feel that in game violence.
Back on topic, I may pick this up one day. Just not sure which. The 360 version will be cheaper for a long while, that's for sure.
