Seeing a doctor is really only viable if I get some of the more severe symptoms. Even if it is h1n1, it's still just a flu. We'll see how I feel tomorrow.

A close friend got diagnozed with h1n1 this summer, and it's ridiculously harmless. The normal flu is way worse.

Please don't buy into the hysterical hype. Unless you are an infant, elderly or have a compromised immune system you have nothing to worry about. Drink lot of fluids get plenty of rest and get over it (both literally and figuratively. )

My friend's kid had a fever hit 105.7 deg F before they got it under control, and that's kinda scary when it's your kid.

But was the kid okay? Once you get so high, long term side effects can start kicking in, like brain damage.

btw - Normal flu is savage. It really can kill you.
What we usually describe as bedridden flu is actually a bad cold. The real flu will drop you like a stone and destroy your core.

My wife got the h1n1. She was on bed for a few days, but it was nothing serious indeed... not worse than a bad flu. I stayed at her side all the time and I didn't get it.

It's one of the mildest strains of flu for ages, and the elderly are often immune (it's very similar to one from ~50 years ago (can't remember the exact date))
The cold one of my frends got afterward (post viraly, i.e cos it screwed their immune system) was about 5 times worse, that layed you up for 2 weeks H1N1 just gives you a fever for a few days.

the issue with swine flu was not the risk of imminent death, but how contagious it was. imagine if (worst case scenario) there had been a period where 30% of all people in your country were off work during any given period schools, hospitals, emergency services... you get the idea
