What - do some people go for the games?

Out of town on Saturday sadly. How long until DSMBL goes?

This will make you feel better. Mr. Cock-end Lucas has decided he doesn't want press all over his place, so we've been relocated to L-Dax, next door too the ranch, so I won't even see Skywalker Ranch.

However, as L-Dax is where ILM, much of Lucasfilm, and all the game developers and stuff is (Skywalker Ranch is mainly Lucas' office, a vineyard, cattle rearing facilities and a massive soundstage), I'm quite pleased. I won't get to meet George Lucas, but at least I won't have to pretend to be nice...

I'll be down tonight
Bringing the board.

Did the Canyon no miss last night, though I used two bombs on the boss because I have no idea WTF is going on in that fight.

I'll be down tomorrow night.

Mills :arrow: Strikers 1945 dips :arrow:
DIPSW2
1 = Screen Flip
2 = Attract Sound
DIFF Normal = 3 OFF 4 OFF
Hard 3 OFF 4 ON
V Hard 3 ON 4 ON

Lives = 5 & 6

7 Bonus 600k = 7 OFF
8 = Service Mode

Looks like tomorrow and Friday night will be the only times I can make it down. So if there's a minimeet on Sat & Sun -> I'll catch the friday edge of it.

Ps. I do recommend the minimeet for this coming weekend (as suggested by Smraedis earlier), as the Mega Black has to go back to Chi-Ryu Very Soon.

So is DSMBL being swapped out for DDP? Sounds like I got in a couple credits just in time.

Nah, DFK is going in the vert, so the two will co-exist for a short while. I imagine Progear will be swapped back when DSMBL is gone?

My current plans for Fri-Sun might be cancelled, if so I will try and get down.

The person I was going to lend MBL to doesn't want it now (I lent him vanilla DeathSmiles and that was good enough for him), so I'm happy to let it rest there for another month if people want it (i.e. until November)!

Me too! :D
I'm finding it easier to improve my scoring on the PCB over the 360 version - must be the slow down, a proper cab, the hubub of the arcade etc. Went in there this afternoon and the place was busier than I expected. Most people crowded round SFIV...

I always score better on a cab over a console.

I'd love the board to stay in for a while...

I get back from San Fran on Thursday afternoon UK time, so if jet lag hasn't ragged by brain, I might pop along then.

Man no, that actually sucks a bit. I'd rather you got to see him, at least so you could slap his silly face (and recount stories to me about what you saw in there. :( )
I'm a Star Wars fan (excluding eps 1,2,3) so it would have been interesting for me to hear about.
Regardless, you're going to have an awesome time anyway. Bastardo! :o

Whose DDP DFK is going in then? Is it Ill6's?

Well Skykid, I saw loads of awesome props from films Industrial Light and Magic have worked on today, and there's too many to mention them all, but apart from seeing the original Darth Vader and Boba Fett costumes from the first film, I saw the real animatronic Yoda, The animatronic Slimer from Ghostbusters, the original painting from Ghostbusters II, loads of dinosaurs from Jurassic park, the actual BMX and basket from ET, the hook from Hook, the exploration suit from Inner Space, and my favourite... the actual little robot fellas from Batteries Not Included. Amazing stuff!

I was also surprised to learn how many backgrounds from even modern films are still hand painted. Even things like loads of the airport and aeroplanes in Die Hard II are all oil paintings.

I will possibly be down on Saturday but it depends on a slight problem with my mothers car being sorted out on Friday, so I can't promise anything

I popped in a few credits today, confirming my suspicion that DFK is awesome. Managed to scrape together 5 billion, but I'm still not really sure about scoring (in power mode). Apparently cancelling bullets in a stage only increases your hit counter in normal mode, right? Also, the hit meter apparently works rather differently than in previous incarnations, but I'm not sure exactly how. It all seems rather complicated, compared to DOJ at least.

Also, the difficulty spike in the middle of stage 5 with the rotating laser things is ridiculous.

I'll be there all Saturday, and most of Sunday!

I'm really really happy to hear about DFK, can't wait to play it again, and finally make the second loop on it.. wish I could go there even more now... and with the news of DeathSmiles staying another month.. I may even come down another time soon, of course if I can get somewhere to stay again :D

Yeah, at IC09 that's the stage that kept ruining me. It's bloody easy beforehand though.
