I gave the kids my PSP 3 months ago and it looks cosmetically fine, however after a few minutes usage today I noticed the analog controller forces up in all games that use it. I can't play anything that forces the use of analog control. I took the thumb bit off and the centre knob seems slightly down. You can't even push the stick up at all. Not even a little bit.
Anyone know of how to fix this little problem? Its an original PSP-1001 model I think.
Thanks for any help.

PSP analog forces up all the time!!
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

Since it's a 1001 and out of warranty it probably wouldn't hurt to take off the faceplate and make sure everything's kosher. IIRC, the analog nub should still be screwed to the faceplate when it's removed so you won't have to screw with the PSP internals.
Removing the faceplate will also allow you to mod the d-pad so that it doesn't stink.
