P2 side is much better for me because of the speed and because I do not have auto-fire.

I am looking forward to playing a game that doesn't involve generic tanks/jets/boats.

I actually got what I consider to be a fairly good score this week. Gogo having time to play. Better post it up before I forget, eh?

Final update. I really enjoyed this game, though it annoyed me at first. The more I played it the more I enjoyed it.

Heh, kind of glad that I somewhat took a break from this week. Growing to hate this one, can't quite figure out why as of yet...

I can't count how many times I died and went '...wat' this week.

That's about as many points as the game seems willing to give me.

Arghh, the fourth boss's machine gun makes me always die with full bomb stock.
Next time I swear I'll just bomb it and won't try to dodge anything.

RGC - Team Royale - 2,206,100 - 6 - P1 - MAME

Spent loads of time practicing stage 3,4 & 5 bosses, then decided to just bomb da fuck instead. I'm well impressed with myself here, especially lifing it to stage 5.

mame32ppk says it only took me 50 minutes to completely hate this game (although the last 2 runs were a lot better since I figured out most of my problems were being caused by autoframeskip being on)

GOOD ENOUGH.

Very small improvement:

Shatterhand - Pelé Shooting Team - 3,720,390 - 8 - P1 - Mame

Fuck the last boss. What pisses me off is that I already got his patterns down (Well, sort of, I need to bomb it like three times to destroy his turrets cleanly :D)... when he gets to its last form , it gets real EASY.... but I always get nervous, and make a mistake there. When he's about to go down, flames start show up... and then dozens of different popcorn enemies appear everywhere, my mind goes like "OH no, you are going to screw it up now, you are going to screw it up now"...... and guess what happens.

I think I reached last boss today 5 or 6 times, and screwed it up on it everytime. Of course, when I actually got there with more than my last life AND a good suply of bombs, I tried to dodge between the turrets patterns instead of bombing as always, so I had to face its last form with just my last life and no bombs.... Stupid me :?

Still played better than yesterday, when I was screwing up in earlier levels. 2nd boss is responsable for like 9/10 of my restarts.

I'll take a break for now..... but I'll be really pissed if the week ends and I haven't beaten the game.

Chosing this game lowers my respect for mikwuyma by a considerable amount. Sorry for letting you down team, but there is not a single likeable gameplay element to this entirely forgetable game.

The most amazing thing about this guy is that he DOESNT HAVE A COMPUTER AT HIS HOME. He's usually playing in a bar that have an arcade cabinet with a mame setup. That's why he had to sit out in the RFJ week, because they didn't have the RFJ rom.

He's playing without auto-fire, and he actually has to PAY for his credits. It's pretty amazing indeed.

If he could play at the comfort of his home, practice with save-states and shit, I'm sure his scores would be even more impressive :)

Edit: He did play RFJ. He played it at a cyber-cafe, asked the owner to download Mame and a RFJ rom so he could play it :)
I was thinking about this early today. Really Luy is incredible he can't even restart yours runs, pretty sure nobody in this forum is more clean in shmups than Luy. :P

People let's challenge without the save state and the restart.

Cool!
Without using save-states I'd probably be still getting ass-raped on level 4. And I restart like 80% of my 1 credit runs. :D

One thing that I was think about earlier today... STGT makes me feel a dirtier player indeed. I never use save-states except when playing on the STGT... I can easily see how this helps me a LOT, but it really feels like cheating. If I used save-states to practice, say, a Cave game, I'd probably had already 1cc one of them by now (I think, funnily enough, I always sitted out on the cave weeks in all previous STGT).

I still haven't learned how to do save states, but then I'm a bloody MacMAME user...

EDIT: Wrong stage!

I love the way Stage 3 reminds me of SWIV.
