Score format: Player - Team - Score - Stage - Player Side - Version

Player side is important - your ship depends on which side you play!

Remember about proper formatting, and about the spaces before and after the '-'! You don't need to insert commas into the score (though it won't hurt).

Again, if you keep to the formatting, it would be splendid. And a reminder, dynamic scoreboard is still very much up and running.
In the case that you complete the game, please take note or a screenshot (F12) of your score AFTER the words "PRESENTED BY NMK" disappear (whether being shot by you or they fly away) which is seconds before the game fades to the high score screen, which will report a lower score than what you've gotten at the end of the game (bug.)
Have fun!

I love you guys sooo much.

I think I know how the games got picked now ;)

Admittedly I haven't put as much time into this one as I think people would assume I have, but just to start things rolling:

Dammit, autofire made me input this name.
Also, is it me, or do I see rank present? I jacked up my autofire rate and enemies that didn't normally go bullet-happy on me did.

ShadowWraith - Team Hard Gay - 2,124,770 - Stage 6 - Player 1 - MAME

I like this game. It's not horribly fast paced and there's not a lot of memorisation involved! Bombs are all over the place. :D

I'm digging it too so far, but...

For the love of all that is explosions and stuff! Turn off your sound!

Your sanity will thank me.

LOL

Enjoy losing a third of your first stage scoring potential because you missed just two secret bonuses. (300K is a good first stage score, possibly one can do even better, kind of like how 6200K+ in RFJ stage 1 was my target, though I made do with 5M+ scores.)

Although, it looks like I should pay more attention to just forcing my way through some stages...it's too easy to get hung up on the first stage.

It's kinda like RFJ in that your score is related to the square of the amount of time you put in. Sort of a mix between the caravan style play and kind of like RFJ in that shooting things down quickly means you get more scoring opportunities later on, also more bombs.

It's also somewhat like RFJ in that the more hidden medals you uncover, the more later ones are worth.

Thanks to Aru-San for reminding me to shoot safely. Rank definitely is tied to the amount of times you shoot. So not only does this game reward you for sweeping back and forth quickly (also punishes because I often sweep back into a bullet), but there's also a reward for shots hit percentage.

Gotta get use to the blue bullets and this game suffers a little varth with the shit coming from behind that you can run into. I'm liking this game though.

Note that the first bomber that comes from behind (in stage 2) actually goes through your ship at the beginning with no ill effect. It doesn't actually come into play until a bit later. A scaling or similar effect would have been helpful there.

That, and bonuses that hide behind clouds, and enemy shots that can be completely hidden by the P2 ship (example of a dangerous situation: the watchtowers in stage 2), makes me wonder if the graphics emulation is 100% correct. Well, it probably is (at one point in that stage I noticed a bomb floating under a fake transparent tent net). It does take some getting used to in any case.

ED-057 - Team Oldschoolers - 1,036,860 - stage 4 - p1 side - MAME

This game seems kind of tame after playing Varth and seeing every little popcorn and ground-based enemy trying to sneak up and point-blank me. :)

I'd thought it was based on survival time, but I just shoot autofire continually. This could bear some checking out.

Actually you could be right. I didn't get back to stage 3 in order to check it out, so definitely try different strategies.

Rank control is probably just through dying if shots aren't counted O_O

Yay, maybe not having autofire wont matter this week then. How the hell do you set up autofire for SDLMAME on a mac? I cant seem to get it working in any way. Using a keymapper with autofire mysteriously stops working on any MAME client when it works fine on everything else.

Wait, what? I've actually been really enjoying the LACK of behind deaths. The stuff that comes in low doesn't shoot at you until its higher up on the screen, and planes that come in from below won't kill you by touching them until they're in the top two-thirds of the screen or so. There's only one exception I've found to this so far.

I'm more annoyed with the... third boss? Instant kill laser. Even though I've seen it a few times, I still stand there in front of him like a retard and BLAM!

Continuing my two-week tradition of posting an early score:

DoubleThink - The Team With No Name - 590,570 - 3 - P1 - MAME

It's really annoying how the bombing ships at the end of stage 1 will randomly fly straight back up the moment they appear :|
Live to fly, fly to live, it's all very orthodox

Dear lord, with so many great options for a dragon week you had to choose this one? :?

Thunder Dragon is as much about dragons as Kyukyoku Tiger is about tigers.

First credit.

I don't like this game. It's not horribly fast paced and there's not a lot of memorisation involved! Bombs are all over the place, at least. :(

I think I'm going to be playing more rohga this week instead (thanks Twiddle!).

All revisions should be good, I guess? Ask mike about that, I'm just here doing the scoreboard that has just been updated.
