For what it's worth I just got an e-mail stating that my LH:PB direct order has been filled and shipped. This was ordered direct using the half-price option for owning the previous game.

Received the game today - a sexy DVD-case in ... pink.
:D

I hope to survice a little bit longer at this version than with the
original.

Some impressions from me will be posted later .

I got the "standard-version" ( no big fan of special editions ).

So - the text on the back of the "DVD-case" is mostly in japanese.
If someone don´t know he/ she might consider it as a game released
in japan.

But ... why always english or japanese text written on your import games.
A german text on the back should be really different and exotic for
players outside germany/ europe. :)

I ´m sorry - but I lack the technical equipment for this.

The front-cover seems to be nearly the same than in the former dreamcast-version.

The back-side has some other pictures from the game itself.

Maybe one of the programmers/ developers can submit some pictures.

Found some time to play level one - at the moment no score-bug.
As always I ´ve had some quick deaths - but at least I saw that killed me.
Hopefully without check points in the levels and having the satelitte always
with me the game will be less frustrating for me.

Have to spend some more time on this ....

My next try on this game:

using every credit I reached the boss of level four.

The game is definetly easier and more forgiving than the former version.
Now some might say that the game has become too easy - I wait for the
discussion about this.

I see myself as a shmup-fan but definetly not as a pro or hardcore-gamer -
my work doesn´t leave me the time for that. And beeing in my late 30´s I am not
the player I was at the beginning of the nineties. :|

So - for the people who considered "Last Hope" in the past much too hard
- Pink Bullets might be right version for you. I don´t regret buying this
update. For the hardcore-gamer who doesn´t need a credit to 1´cc the
former version - except some nem colors you find less competion - so
you can save your money.

P.S. :

As I already wrote in the "Dux"-Topic - I am no family-member of the programmers/
developers and I don´t even know them personally. Call it "Bullshit" if you want -
for the moment this is my opinion about this game. And I am curious about their
( hopefully in the nearer future ) coming vertical shmup and I hope for Dux 2 -
the world needs more hori-shmups.

Playing on very easy I was able to reach the end of level 6 - died
fighting the last boss.

Better players than me surely try some of the harder difficulty settings.
The replay-value of this game might be better than in Dux - that game
( to my knowledge ) has only one difficulty.

Similar to R-Type-Dimensions on the Xbox360 Last Hope Pink Bullets
means less frustration for less gifted players like me. After dying you
don´t loose your satelite and you don´t have to start again on a
far away checkpoint. The worst ( at least for me ) in a hard
memo-shmup like R-Type or R-Type II is failing over and over
again on the same level / level boss.

Gotta just say that these two games have very nice looking packaging. Not a huge R-Type fan but kinda feel like I should support and get these games, very reasonable prices two.

Can someone remind me about what the deal is with the glitches on Dux, and whether or not there was ever a patched version that was sent out to people who bought the game. Thought I heard something like that and wanted to check before I maybe get these two.

I received my copy of LH: Pink Bullets in California on Friday, the 11th (shipped directly by NG:DEV.TEAM, along with my unsealed copy of the Neo Geo CD version of Last Hope). I'd just like to say that I'm very pleased with the changes! I was a fan of the original Last Hope as it was, but it was at times frustrating and difficult to progress. Having now played Pink Bullets, I can say that the changes were in my opinion very worthwhile, and that the experience of playing the game is - for me - a more enjoyable one.

Definitely worth the effort on the part of THE and RHE, and money well-spent on my end. Oh, and I love the packaging. Thanks guys, great job. :)

There's no denying that it is quite nice indeed. Even up to the pink case itself, the nice added sticker and the already great art. :)

I'll just keep on playing the first version over this though... (my taste).
This has enough stuff added to be considered a purchase for people who liked the art, but hated difficulty & stuff though.
If you though you could have liked LH "only if...", this may just be for you.

Yep received my copy and its great!!! Art and packaging is slick and the game is very good indeed (still no walk through by any means) great game and well balanced.

On another note I have an UBER RARE[/b] sealed copy of Radiant Silvergun Sountrack (the - one not the + one) this was on a small disc and was given to a limited number of people who preordered RadiantSilvergun in Japan (not the mass produced 1st or 2nd print run of the main OST) ............. just try and find one on ebay!! ..... no chance!! or even googl'ing it is hard work lol, this is seriously rare and would be a welcome addition to any RSG fan (or otherwise) simply put you cannot get these anywhere anymore, dont know exact quantities but I have heared 200(?) Anyone interested in buying this investment please let me know (ideally U.K only please, but will consier worldwide, depending on who it is). i CAN UPLOAD PICS IF REQUIRED[/size], ............... sorry for the sales pitch lol :D[/b]

There was a sticker? Mine had no sticker :(

I do love the game though. It's less cruel than standard Last Hope, and definitely has the feel of a high-score focused game.

I will definitely say that this is a worthy remix of a game that I quite liked to begin with, so kudos to the developers :)

So I posted the disinformation about Last Hope having the scoring bug over at Digital Press yesterday; today I got a PM about it. I guess that's fair.

Fixed that though.

If the Dreamcast version is like the NGCD version...yech. Playing on arcade difficulty, action difficulty, no real difference to me aside from the number of restarts I need...it's just a painful experience for me :( Also ugly, which is surprising given how nice the boxart is.

Nope, Last Hope NGCD is just the original Last Hope with pink bullets and less shrapnels. Pink Bullets instead is almost a completely different gaming experience thanks to instant respawn, emphasis on scoring and overall easier and speedier gameplay etc.

If you meant to ask whether it supports VGA mode, then the answer is: YES!
