Cave will soon be selling a special package on their website which comes with the special edition plus 2 faceplate seals. It's gonna cost 9,660, which is substantially higher than most places you can get it from. Heh, I'd like the faceplates but I dunno if I want to pay 3000 extra for them...

I'm going with the regular edition this time. I went through so much shit to get the Deathsmiles LE and that soundtrack is still sitting there sealed. Does anyone, ANYONE, actually listen to game music outside of a game? Just gotta rock out to the Ice Cavern theme on the bus ride to work? Party just didn't come alive until you started bumping the final boss track?

I still like their games, but I think their OSTs are mostly very bland these days, especially compared to their older stuff. The odd decent track here and there, but for the most part, very inconsistent.

But isn't that around the price for the non-Cave version of the LE, anyways? I thought it was the regular edition of the game that was in the 6,000 yen range.

Key words: Deathsmiles + soundtrack = recipe for that sealed in fresh(stagnant) feeling. No surprises here folks.

I speak for myself when I say I've never bought a limited edition for a soundtrack. All the game soundtracks I own (all 7 of them) were obtained when I couldn't get them otherwise (*cough* no downloads 5 years ago for the Ketsui OST *cough*) or had good value ($20 for Bangai-O Spirits 3 discs, hell yeah, $60 for Muchi Muchi Pork with a superplay DVD, rinse/repeat). Of any soundtracks I've listened to frequently (yet not in long time, so long cds) 'abroad' they are Radiant Silvergun, F-Zero(SNES), Armed Police Batrider(no official OST, whoops), and DOJ/Ketsui set. I would also say I quite enjoy good game music, in game or otherwise so perhaps I have a pretty laid back approach compared to others. Score!

Are you kidding me?
My soundtrack at the gym is videogame music. I'm preparing a mega-ultra-rocking mp3 game cd to leave non-stop in my Honda. DDP DOJ, Mushi, Gradius, TF3/4/5/6 (ok... not 6, maybe the jungle stage song), Darius, Out Run, After Burner, Axelay, Streets of Rage, Battletoads in Battlemaniacs, Radirgy, Zero Wing and many many many others.

I can take orders if people are interested, I'd charge $130 for it (strong yen+shipping adds up).

Technically, but no one pays full price for new software here. Most stores and online sites give you around 15-20% off of the list price. I preordered mine on Amazon for somewhere in the 6000 range. Oddly enough, company websites are the ones who are likely to charge you the full list price.

Might want to wait until you can find out how many you can get. My guess is 3 (5 max) but we'll see. I don't think anything through the Cave store has had a limit higher than 5.

Heh, yeah, I'll try to get as many as I can but it'll be a first come first serve basis if I can't accommodate them all (I've already gotten a few requests already). Well, I can always just get one of my friends in the area to order a few as well, haha.

For those who are interested, you're better off PMing me instead of posting in the thread since it'll be easier for me to keep track of.

I do, but not these arrange soundtracks, they all suck. I prefer the original tracks.

I think I will buy the normal edition only when the game is out.

Any idea roughly how much longer until "Play Asia" will open up preorders for the LE?

From P-A:
Since the available quantity and purchasing price are not confirmed by our
supplier, the item is not ready for pre-order at this moment.
Which is weird when you consider import shops in the UK already have it priced and available.

whoa! 1.01, 1.5, black label and arrange?! if anyone is still on the fence about getting a j-360, that's like $3000 worth of pcbs right there (and you still wouldn't have the arranges).

What, the Death Smiles DLC doesn't have as much love put into it as the base product (Arcade + Arrange) so don't fret quite yet.
