They always start fine, and then at some point there appears to be a barely noticeable freeze and little by little the audio goes gradually out of sync until by the end of the scene it's really off.
It happens that the video is ahead of the sound - so you see a scene or lip movement before the audio has caught up.
Does anyone else get this, or have any suggestions? I burned the disc at the slowest speed, which I think is x8 or something?
I'm playing this in my messiah modded PS2 and I burned it with Nero if any of this helps. Any recommendations?
Does your cd burner support 4x? If yes I strongly recommend that particular speed setting for these kind of PS1 games. Another thing to consider is switching cd media, for best results I'd recommend either Tayo Yuuden or Verbatim.
Also get imgburn.
A question to people who have played through both Snatcher and Policenauts. Which one would you recommend to play first? Snatcher gives me better gut response - you know those hunches when a game compelling from the first sight usually turns out to be as good as expected. If Policenauts is not quite as good, I'd rather play it first to avoid the SotC-after-Ico effect, but if it's a sequel rich in references to Snatcher (spoilers even), then chronological order would be the way to go.

They are two different games (see: story, setting, canon, etc..) with similar execution. Policenauts I felt interested in the entire way through and don't have any complaints. Snatcher is alright but I could never completely get into it, but it is a quality game it just has a different pace and granted it is marginally primative compared to Policenauts. I would say try to tackle Snatcher (Sega CD) first as generally speaking it might only be harder to do so going back from Policenauts.

Thanks for the advice. Still haven't made up my mind, but good to know nonetheless.
