Am I the only one noticing that Gamestop's website no longer talks about the PDF file?

Well, that GameStop sticker is still there proclaiming the PDF artbook, as is the description. But since this is the GameStop website where they'll happily refuse to honor any bonuses, anything goes. Hmm, risk GameStop's supposed PDF artbook or $5 less at Amazon...

I say avoid the awful Gamestop branding defacing Raiden's lovely cover and just wait till someone shares the code on the forum here or uploads the PDF. Especially since you have to enter the code here:

it doesn't seem like this is really any kind of exclusive item that Amazoners won't be able to get a hold of....

GS's website lists the game as having shipped a few days ago, though that obviously didn't happen - GameCrazy, on the other hand, lists the date as this Tuesday, so hopefully it'll be on shelves by Wednesday.

I think the bottom line is that nobody knows for sure when this is coming out until we see it on the shelves. fingers crossed for Wednesday.

Yeah...it's lovely. I think they pulled the same thing with Guilty Gear 2. Characters/skins were out before the game was.

Also, who the fuck decided it would be an awesome idea to list each dlc seperately? It's totally awesome wading through twenty fucking songs for rock band or whatever the fuck the game is just to get to one solitary item. Nooo...it wasn't good enough to list dlc by the game. Nope.

The images to Raiden IV Secret File have been uploaded almost a year ago, back in the older Raiden IV thread: http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.ph ... &start=390 But then, no harm on reposting them here. Btw, it's in Japanese.

Got my automated voice message from the highly energetic GS lady telling me that Raiden IV will be in the store I pre-bought it from tomorrow 9/9/2009.

Oh happy day!

I stopped by the store to see if it had come in yet, and I found out Raiden Fighters Aces has already been discontinued on Gamestop's system. It just came the hell out a few months ago, and it's been slapped on that list already?

That's not very surprising. I remember asking someone in EBGames about one shmup (can't for the life of me remember if it was Castle Shikigami 3 or Ultimate Shooting Collection - I think it was Shikigami) about 2 weeks after it was released only to be told it had already been discontinued in their system. Even the clerk laughed at the fact it had been deleted so quickly.

What is the reason for that? Just isn't selling a lot? I remember trying to buy a copy of capcom classics collection vol 2 about year after it was released and all they told me was they had used copies only from now on of that title?

I had posted elsewhere, but i'll post this here...I just played Raiden III, and thought it was OK. If it was kicked up a notch(graphics and gameplay), I could see it being worth a purchase.

How much better is IV than III?

For those wondering, the secret code for downloading the PDF file is on the music disc.

The DLC doesn't look promising for future content - there are only 2 empty spaces for the 2 new ships that are currently available.......looks like they made the DLC like a puzzle piece that can only fit what's left out from the disc........

Still hoping for more levels or something in the future.....

Any news on the region settings for the US version?
I have a JPN 360, and would like to know if it's locked to US only.

Got mine too. My GS received only 3 copies, 2 of which were pre-bought.

I'd like to know too. Saving $20-$30 sounds good to me. Any info would be much appreciated.

I picked up a copy, the gamestop near me only got two copies in. It's ok, nothing great. Seems to have the same problem as Raystorm with the way the bullets kinda track to your movement.
Feedback will set you free.

I've been playing this here and there over the past few weeks, and it's just amazing. Level 3 is epic, if a bit too long and difficult. Probably the best shooter I've played in a year or so.

Wow...pre-sales are actually still shrinkwrapped. Color me surprised. I figured they would find some excuse to open it. Also, that logo on the front is actually a sticker on the outside of the shrinkwrap. No artwork messed up.

Yep. And there's no Gamestop logo on the back either.

It's funny that the manual is in two languages though.

Just tried my US copy of Raiden IV on my J360, and unfortunately it wouldn't work, so it looks like it's region locked.
