Can anybody identify this game? (warning: really vague info)

Post by rtan »

Hello there,

I'm trying to remember the title of a game I played a long time ago, so that I can go back and finish it this time. It's not a shmup, but I think the only real chance of finding it is posting here, because the details I have about it are so vague . . . I don't even remember what system it was on! It's pre-Genesis/SNES though.

The opening of the game involves you picking between two commando-like characters. One of them is called "Eagle"; I can't remember the other one's name. In the first part of the game, the first commando you pick (who's dressed in green/beige camo) rescues prisoners and does the usual infiltration thing, but gets captured halfway through the game after completing his mission (I remember he gets pushed up against a cliff by a gang of soldier pointing rifles at him).

At this point, the action shifts to the other commando (the one you didn't pick), who's dressed in blue. If I remember rightly the colors don't change even if you reverse the order of the commandos . . . the second half of the game involves trying to infiltrate everything all over again to rescue the first commando. The penultimate battle has you encountering the first commando, only to discover that he's brainwashed . . . you're forced to attack him with nothing but a combat knife, while he launches rockets and other degenerate things at you. I never managed to get past that, but then I was pretty young at the time . . .

The second commando might be called "Snake". I'm not sure about that though. And it's -not- Metal Gear.

Thanks all for any help.

I'm pretty sure you're talking about Bloody Wolf for the Turbografix 16. Great game. It's cheesy as hell, but wonderfully entertaining. :D

Yeah, I just found it. Thanks a lot!

(I'd ask what you were doing up at this ungodly hour, but I happen to be as well, after all.)
