You pull back on the plunger to launch the ball onto the table playfield (by applying various pressure to the PS3 controller's button "X", you can launch the ball soft, medium or hard however you like) and use the flippers to score points. Yeah, it's with the pressure sensitive PS3 controller's L1 and R1 buttons that activate the lower and upper flipper sets. ^_~

It sure would be nice to know when some new pinball tables will be available on the PSN store from Zen Studios.

Upon looking at the back game case of my NDS copy of USA region Flipper Critters, it says that it, too, was made by Zen Studios as well. ^_~

The way how Zen Studios designed the V12 table, it seems that the ball likes to go down the drain quite fast just like as if it was a pinball table in real life. ^_~

I like the Shaman table myself, reminds me of the classic wide-body pinball tables from the likes of Williams and Bally. ^_~

Another new Zen Pinball table is available for d/l for a grand total of five different pinball tables to choose from. Since Zen Studios are big-time Street Fighter fans themselves, they asked Capcom if it was alright to do a Street Fighter themed pinball table for their PS3 pinball compliation and the rest is history. It has a Street Fighter II theme going on for your SF2 lovers. It is a $2.49 USD purchase on the USA region PSN site. ^_~

The Street Fighter II Tribute Table is a 37MB d/l off of the USA region PSN site. At $2.49 USD, that ain't a bad price at all for this fifth Zen Pinball table. Upon trying it out for the very first time, it feels like a classic Williams pinball table called "Rollergames" with some minor mods in place of course. There are the obligatory SF-II sounds effects in place when the ball goes through it's rounds on the playfield. ^_~

All that is missing is a metal pin placed between the flippers so that the ball can bounce back up on the the flippers to resume play and to even out the odds of "a ball going down the drain" too quickly. I like how there are two SF-II upright cabs placed on either side of the SF-II Tribute Table for that cool retro old-school SF-II vibe. Zen Studios has created another cool pinball table worthy of the Zen Pinball name. ^_~

I dislike this control scheme a lot. Has anyone managed to turn off the pressure sensitivity while still allowing posting of your scores to online leaderboards? (I saw the game menus say they disable online hi-score posting if you adjust certain options)

On a side note, the more I play this the less pleased I am by the movement of the ball... just as with Pinball FX on 360, the ball movement and collision rebounds consistently feel wrong. If the physics simulation of Williams Hall Of Fame - the current high water mark, as far as I'm concerned - are to be considered 99% authentic (i.e. 1 out of 100 ball motions feel wrong), then the Zen Pinball / Pinball FX ones are considerably below that (like 40-50% authentic imo). Then again, I'm only a casual pinball player, not an expert, so maybe the Zen team are just simulating motion based on a different (older) era of table (?), if so there is still a disconnect between the modern look and the old ball motion. But despite the flaws the Zen/FX games are still fun enough to kill some time on, especially for the low price tag, and the extra dlc tables have also been worth it.

I'm really not sure if the pressure sensitivity can be disabled in the Operator's Menu settings. I tried using the PS2 Dual Shock 2 controller with a Pelican PS2 to PS3 USB adapter setup and the flipper functionality was even worse. I opted to go back and just use the PS3 Six Axis controller instead for it's better pressure sensing capabilites.

Just like in real pinball, Zen Studios was trying to capture the nuiances of real ball physics...some games are lengthy and others, quite short. Of course, you can "juke" (shake/nudge) the table to try to keep the ball in play longer but at the expense of possibly tilting it and losing your current ball in play. ^_~

I would have to consider the PC versions of Pinball Pro, Timeshock and the two other pinball tables in the series to have the best physics with the ball reacting to the enviroment of the playfield. Of course, in the "Incredible Journey" pinball table, you can even adjust the age of the overall pinball machine from brand new to used but in kept in good working order. ^_~

You can even change the overall color scheme on the SF-II Tribute Table's dot matrix display if you wish if the default "yellow" color isn't your cup of tea...it won't affect your on-line posted scores either. ^_~

I figured out how to do it.

During gameplay:

1. Start to pause the game.
2. Select Operator's Menu (game in progress will reset)
3. Select "U. Utilities" from Operator Main Menu
4. Select "U 4. Extra Adjustments" from Operator Utilities Menu
5. Select "U 4 01. Lower Arms Sensitivity" from Operator Extra Adjustments Menu, and set this value to "0.15"
6. Select "U 4 02. Upper Arms Sensitivity" from Operator Extra Adjustments Menu, and set this value to "0.0"
7. Now just back out of the Operator's Menu to save your settings.

All the flippers will now work simultaneously just like they did in Pinball FX.

(Changing these defaults does not interfere with online leaderboard use.)
