Hiya!
I bought a VBOX HD-360 , that converts component to VGA , but I have a small problem: it seems the refresh rate is locked to 60hz , so connecting a PAL PS2 via component does works and looks great, but since the refresh rate is 60hz the motion is jerky (no vsync I guess , since my games are 90% PAL ones)
Anyone tried those? maybe there is some trick I don't know?
Here are some pics I took while testing with an XBOX1 (that is ntsc-patched and all games are 60hz , no probs there!)
here is the OSD:
...and the PCB lol
VBOX HD-360 (component->vga) and PS2 PAL games....
Re: VBOX HD-360 (component->vga) and PS2 PAL games....
no trick, all the converter boxes based on the same design are 60Hz only. Which actually makes sense since hardly any LCDs with VGA input will sync to anything less on this input.

I believe I picked up a similar box, the only difference is that the one I got outputs HDMI instead of VGA.
Here is the company website.

I haven't gotten mine yet but I'm looking forward to it.
How are you liking it so far despite the problems that you are having with right now with the jerkyness?
Hows the lag/delay for time sensitive games?
Mind testing it out on older consoles like the PSX or Saturn? Even SNES?
Any info would be very helpful.
Thanks

@fudoh:
all modern lcd tv's AND CRT monitors can 95% sync perfectly fine @50hz. There should be an option for that when the converter picks up a 576i/50hz or whatever signal...
@Shelcoof:
the quality is AWESOME , I have tested on my xbox1 that has only NTSC games, and there is no detected lag at all... it almost looks like the xbox1 has native vga-out ...
there is no way to test saturn/snes since the vbox only takes component or hdmi inputs...

hey kerpi
That's awesome to hear. I plan on using my box mainly for Dreamcast, PS2 and GC games. If I can use my Saturn and older console that would be a huge plus. If you end up using your VBOX for any of those consoles please post impressions as well.
I'm looking forward to testing out my unit when it arrives.
Thanks for the info

they can with composite, s-video, rgb, component and HDMI, but bar none can with VGA.all modern lcd tv's AND CRT monitors can 95% sync perfectly fine @50hz.

well, since u live in NTSC country, I am sure you will be very satisfied
Re: VBOX HD-360 (component->vga) and PS2 PAL games....
how come 2 different LG and 1 Samsung lcd monitors sync perfectly at the 50hz vga-out of my amiga???Fudoh wrote:they can with composite, s-video, rgb, component and HDMI, but bar none can with VGA.all modern lcd tv's AND CRT monitors can 95% sync perfectly fine @50hz.

perhaps we have a compatibillity list of some sorts in the "english amiga board" and when the 2009 A1200/A4000 scandoublers were made, we have the option to have 50/60hz (or more) VGA signal, so PAL is always 100% smooth...
either way I feel it is an omition of the manufacturers to offer 50hz output for 50hz inputs, afterall the main TrueView chip supports 50hz output... at least they could have a 100hz 640x480 resolution that would work OK...
