NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Lunatic:
moozooh — 624,511,890 — 6 — 1.25% — Sakuya-A (replay).
That's right, Reflowering. That's right, just before the next extend. That's right, could have lasted with better bomb management. Grrr.
Glad to see that VSyncPatch makes a difference. I was able to pull off dodges I hardly ever managed before on my first credit in four months. No-missing until Alice 2 and going into Yuyuko battle for the first time on a credit, too. I should probably work some more on it, but gameovers like this tend to exhaust my motivation.

It's a patch that removes input lag and ports some functionality to earlier games. Try it.

Re: Perfect Cherry Blossom (Touhou Project 7, 2003) (New Thread)
I don't understand how to use this. Help please? ^^;
EDIT: Never mind, I figured it out.
I noticed that it made the game run at exactly 60.00 fps at all times. That's so freaking cool.
Do I have to open the game in VSync every time, or is it a one-time thing?
EDIT2: Also, do I have to copy the files from the 東方弾幕風用 VsyncPatch into the game folder as well?

Not sure about all that, I tried it for the first time today, and just decided to finish the credit I tried it on. :D

Re: Perfect Cherry Blossom (Touhou Project 7, 2003) (New Thread)
Well, I messed around with it a little more. It seems that you do have to start the game from vpatch.exe each time. It doesn't seem to want to work for EoSD, IN, or MoF so far however, and I don't understand why.
It works incredibly well in PCB and it's kinda nifty in Uwabami Breakers as well.
I decided to really put it to the test and I played a round of PCB on Lunatic. Normally I don't manage to get past Chen without losing all of my lives, but for the first time ever, I almost made it to Lily White in Stage 4. On one credit. I broke 100M. Most of my deaths were incredibly stupid mistakes. I could have made it way farther. This is absolutely awesome, and I suddenly don't know how I got by without it. Is it cheating to use this thing?
Kinda wish I could get it to work in other games though. :/

Re: Perfect Cherry Blossom (Touhou Project 7, 2003) (New Thread)
Not at all. It seems the lag is not an intended feature, but a mismanaged software/hardware interaction which may or may not produce unwanted input lag depending on your OS, video driver version or settings, or who knows what else.Momijitsuki wrote:Is it cheating to use this thing?

Re: Perfect Cherry Blossom (Touhou Project 7, 2003) (New Thread)
Awesome.
Current results from testing:
EoSD: Doesn't seem to want to start, but it may be because of the English patch I have installed. Who knows.
PCB: Works beautifully, makes me want to go for a Hard 1CC
IN: Doesn't seem to want to start, tested from the folder that was directly installed from the disc; I haven't tested the folder that has my downloaded version with English patch applied. Dunno if that matters.
PoFV: Works wonderfully, I may just be able to beat Extra now!
StB: Works, but it crashed on me after playing for a couple of minutes. I haven't tried it again to see if that was just a fluke.
MoF: Same as IN, won't start.
SA: Haven't tested it yet, but I have a feeling it may not work.
alcostg: Works very nicely
Danmakufu/Concealed the Conclusion: Can't get it to work, gives a couple of error screens that I can't read due to kanji

tEoSD requires that you have the original .exe named "東方紅魔郷.exe", I think it's the only game that's like this (but there's a lot of things in tEoSD that other games do not have).
Also use AppLocale for these if you aren't already (you should for the games themselves, even the English patches).

Re: Perfect Cherry Blossom (Touhou Project 7, 2003) (New Thread)
My computer's set to Japanese locale to begin with. Thanks for the tip, though. ;P
All right, now we're making some progress!
Hard:
Momijitsuki - 333,609,950 - 6 - 0.44% - SakuyaA (Replay)
A lot of stupid deaths in there, but damned if I'm not proud of making it this far! I even managed to capture some of Youmu's spell cards. I wanna clear hard and at least make third place on the board! Any advice is very welcome, too.

Sort of unrelated: I'm looking for the PCB ver 0.05 demo. Does anyone have any idea where I can find it? I want to try out the Lost Spell Cards.

VSync Patch Testing Update:
EoSD: The original .exe needs to be named '東方紅魔郷.exe', but works nicely.
PCB: Works beautifully, makes me want to go for a Hard 1CC
IN: Seems to only want to start when used on an English-patched version. It works alright though.
PoFV: Works wonderfully, I may just be able to beat Extra now!
StB: Works, but it crashed on me after playing for a couple of minutes. I haven't tried it again to see if that was just a fluke.
MoF: Original .exe must be named 'th10.exe'. I was a moron and renamed the game to 'Mountain of Faith' for convenience, and it didn't work. Otherwise it works quite well :p
SA: Actually makes the controls for the game to be less responsive, don't use it
alcostg: Works very nicely, but it makes the replay fps counter go all buggy, even if the game ran a perfect 60.00 during gameplay.

Lunatic - Reimu B
Heartbeam - 1,781,175,490 - C - 0.514% - Replay
Choked hard on the last three stages, but what would there be if everything I wanted to go right actually did? Makes it that much easier to move up.

Easy - Reimu A
Ransom - 376,701,890 - C - 0.992%
No bombs and no lives at the end but I finally 1cc'd this. I don't care if it's just easy, I'm thrilled!
