I was just playing with my cabinet when the picture suddenly disappeared, like as if I turned off the cabinet.
I immediately turned off the cabinet. I tried turning it back on again and there was no picture, just sound and the built in PSU fan turns on.
The little tube at the neck board doesn't have a light either.
What could have happened?
Cabinet is a Blast City.

Do you have a multi meter? If so check you have power to the monitor because it seems like you dont.
Could just be a fuse if you are lucky.

First things first, check that everything is physically looking good at the back.
I think it would be better to check the PSU as well, since most problems originate there.

A moment of silence for the passing of a flyback transformer...
Re: Picture suddenly disappeared
How do you check PSU? The voltages?
No, please not the dreaded flyback death, there are no replacements for these as I understand. And there's no goop!!! It's such a clean chassis. Any way for me to confirm flyback death?
I actually was able to get to the fuses ok. There were two of them...a bit white on the glass cylinder...but my multimeter showed continuity.
All cables I could see were plugged in. I took neck board off, and put it back in again. Did the same with the anode cap after discharging.
Unfortunately, my tube still doesn't want to fire up...
I just remember something that happened just before the screen went, I noticed faint horizontal artifacts at the bottom of the screen before going but I thought at the time it may have been the game itself in there not liking the horizontal settings. Thought this clue may help?

Re: Picture suddenly disappeared
On the chassis there will be a power cable Live and Neutral, Set your meter to AC Volts and you should get approx 120 Volts on the meter where the cable feeds the monitor.

Re: Picture suddenly disappeared
Technician came today to diagnose. Couldn't fix on site so took the tube, chassis and remote board all within the inbuilt cage. Will let you guys know what the problem was...but won't know until 7/09 as he is going to the US in 2 days.
