lol gamefront

I missed this information though (bolded part)
A release for Mushi Hime is now set for November 26. Cave will offer a standard version of the game at ¥7,140 and a ¥9,660 first print run limited version that includes a 2 disc Mushi Hime Double Arranged Soundtrack. The first runs of both versions will come with a download code for downloading version 1.01 of Mushi Hime Sama Futari.

Absolutely. All these games should be on XBLA really. It's a total joke that they're not. I really hate having to faff about with discs. Downloads are the way to go.

They would definitely not have as many features if they were downloadables .. and besides, I like my discs :S

If they were downloadables they could have sold each title more incrementally, eg Arcade/360 version followed by any specific arrange versions, black labels, remix music, etc. They would make a lot more money that way, not least because distribution costs would be halved (maybe more so). I hate discs and all associated packaging. It's just superfluous junk. It's the games that matter to me, which is just as well, because it won't be long now until all games are distributed online. Now that Microsoft have started selling full 360 games as downloadables, it won't be long before Sony follow suit.

With all this debate over older CAVE titles and the licence holders do you think there is any chance that "Pink Sweets" or "Muchi-Muchi pork" could be released on the "xbox live arcade"? These two games don't have a home console release (to the best off my knowledge). Also would there be less problems with licence holders than with other games such as Progear?

I think both those titles are new enough that they'd be considered for retail releases as opposed to XBLA. Mind you, the home port of Pork might end up being the definitive version because you can turn voices off.

More like we will not be far from the point where they'll start selling us incomplete/crippled games (or cleverly disguised demos) as full retail price downloads. Then you'll have to pay for the patches (the ones that actually should've been there prior to the beta testing), pay to play all the stages (you have reached stage 4, now go pay for the extra DLC!), pay to have more than one character, pay for the power ups, pay for the continues (well, this one could be useful right? :P), pay for everything. Twice. God, yeah, gotta love the apocalyptic way of thinking.

Instead of boss milking we are gonna end up with full scale pocket milking.

So, please clear this doubt: Espgaluda II is going retail, right?

Famitsu posted this recently, which I think is old news: http://www.famitsu.com/game/news/1226682_1124.html (courtesy of newStage)

All that is happening now anyway with the various DLC for retail releases (with Japanese developers being particularly keen to exploit this new form of sales method). Still works out a hell of a lot cheaper than buying PCBs!

Considering all the extra modes and hi-def stuff it's getting, I'd say that's a pretty safe assumption - if it were a downloadable title it'd probably be pretty much a straight arcade port.

In the translation I read, the voting was open for any of Cave's older games. They didn't stipulate that you could only vote for certain games. I'm sure if game X got enough votes and it was one they sold the rights to, I'm sure the current owners would not likely say no to Cave if they offered to do a quick port for XBLA and the profits were split. Given that Cave made the games in the first place, they'd probably be in the best position to negotiate such a situation.

just wait a few days and get some used out of a vending machine,

also, I hope the "complete" DOJBLEX won't be any better than a patched original (in gameplay that is)

I'm not sure I'm reading this right... Assuming the original gameplay is intact, why would some additional content be worse than a patched original?

Maybe I'm not understanding what "complete" means.

it look like there will be two type of DOJBLEX 360 discs out there. The original release and one with the bugfixes in it. Patching the original should make it 100% equal to the one with bugfixes included.

That's probably going to be the case, but the 'complete' version will be separate from both and is going to be DLC that has to be purchased separately. I'd imagine its going to be the more accurate version of the port that they have been working on with Cave.

Maybe the new press disc would be a "special edition" that comes not only with the patch but also with the DLC.

That would piss off earlier adopters, but sure will make a lot of people to buy the same game twice (including me).

Frustratingly true. If there was a better retail version out there I'd have to own it regardless of the copy sitting on my shelf (not to mention the PS2 port next to it).

I sent them one in english telling them to switch to PS3 (no region lock) and I'd buy everything they put out. Probably just as useless as yours and more confusing since it's off-topic :D

I wonder if they'd mention it to sony if they got 200 english emails telling them to release DFK on PS3

i voted for pork too, but stupidly didn't think that they might not be able to read "Muchi Muchi Pork" ? or would they? oh well.
