2009's winter lineup is SMALL

Post by Strider77 »

if you are not an importer.... yet another 2009 release bites the dust. bayanetta won't be coming the the USA till 2010. this year's winter season sux, it's crazy how everyone is so scared of halo and COD that they are all shoving themselves into 1st quarter next year.

but it sux for anyone who could care less about either one of those games. COD I could care less about, halo I will play but I'm not bouncing off the walls for. oh well... it's not like I wasn't gonna get the import.... NCSX started preorders today for it.

So far the only ones coming out that are buys for me (off the top of my head) are:

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
Borderlands
Lost Planet 2
Bayanetta
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

There'll be plenty of small-name games coming out. It's just a matter of looking out for them.

Indeed, September's going to be a big month for me, personally - Muramasa, Scribblenauts, Raiden IV, Illvelo, the PSP Persona remake...not to mention Mana Khemia 2 in late August and Space Invaders Extreme 2 in October, and I'm still waiting for announcements regarding Sakura Taisen and Atelier Annie (and while I'm not into it myself, loads of others would add Brutal Legend to that list). The amount of delays into early 2010 are pretty ludicrous, but there's plenty of stuff for my tastes, at least, to keep me busy through then.

Size is a relative thing.
"Sooo, what was it that you consider a 'good salary' for a man to make?"
"They should at least make 100K to have a good life"

I'm not much of an RPG player anymore and do import alot... so most of the ones mentioned I all ready own or am not interested in. There are games coming out. It's just aggravating so many bigger titles are jumping ship.

I want something like bayenneta that I can sink my teeth into.

Yeah, this year has been pretty dismal, and even Fall and Winter look pretty bad. There's like... 5 or 6 games I have any interest in, and three of those are rereleases of older titles.

Well, if you just mean up until the end of the year (since Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is set for release before Q4), there's still:

Mana Khemia 2
Dissidia
Muramasa
Raiden IV
Persona (PSP)
Tekken 6
Soulcalibur Broken Destiny
Gran Turismo (PSP)

And that's just US releases.

Apart from the probably terrible Sakura Wars 5 localization, I don't have anything planned. Maybe Dream Club, haha. Muramasa looks great but I'm not buying a Wii just for that shit. I'll definitely check out the PSP remake of Persona, though.

Hell, there's nothing even IN August that I'm looking forward to. I thought Persona was coming now, but apparently not until mid September. I guess it's time to play stuff I already have.

I'm looking forward to quite a few PSP games, like GT, FFD, and Tekken, maybe Soul Caliber. COD and Tekken on PS3 too. I'll play the shit out of Tekken, so it's a good year as far as I'm concerned.

Not exactly a winter release, but i think Brutal Legend has some potential.
